Igbos are the most Achivers in Africa.
The inventor of the internet, Phillip Emeagwali,
2007-02-23: No one person invented the Internet as we know it today. However, certain major figures contributed major breakthroughs: "What about Philip Emeagwali? Wasn't he a father of the Internet?" http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/history/emeagwali.htmlNo. Emeagwali did supercomputing research in the eighties. But his work did not relate to the Internet in any meaningful way. He contributed to no Internet standards, major or minor. Unfortunately he has made public claims that suggest he contributed to the development of something he had nothing to do with. For more information and complete references, see my article Is Philip Emeagwali a "Father of the Internet?" http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/history/inventednet.htmlBob Kahn and Vince Cerf were more accountable for the invention of the internet than Phillip, and even those 2 downplay their achievements.

Half of what the poster attributed to Igbo people is trash. The Igbos do not lead the movie industry. the fact that it is saturated by Igbo's does not mean they lead it.
Nnamdi Azikiwe was the first Nigerian president - True. But that was a ceremonial post with the powers resting with the Premier who was a northerner.
Regarding Biafra, the Igbo's had outside help from other countries as well and the main reason the war went on as long as it did was because the Nigerian army did not cut off their supplies/access soon enough. Your leader did not think things through properly before embarking on a "war" that would wipe out roughly a million of his people. Most people died as a result of starvation, malnutrition etc than from battles.
On the literary front, I don't see any Nobel Laureates from Igbo land.
I agree the Igbos are formidable businessmen but that is because they lay so much emphasis on money over and above everything else including education. 419ers are predominantly Igbo too.
I can go on and on but I won't.

look at it this way, we igbos make things happen in nigeria and its major cities, all you yorubas do is block the streets with owambe parties and steal government money, tribalise everywhere you enter(thanks to your f-kd-up father awolowo), smell around in your laces and agbada like old frozen chicken cartons, disgrace us everywhere with your dirtiness and disorganised nature e.g london, give birth to kids like rabbits without thinking of how to feed them thereby over-populating nigeria and breeding more agberos(yes kudos to you guys our populations is rising thanks to your "bi mo bi mo" without thinking nature ), the only development you people are contributing to nigeria is in the entertainment sector which of course the igbos pioneered, stabilised and are still maintaining, the government that you are shouting that your son, OBJ, is improving-go and check who are his key men/women that are running the show for him.

absolutely nothing, she lives in aba selling oporoko and cray fish in the day time, and at night goes out to hawk in a cheap hotel i guess that is an achievement too.
There is nothing wrong with selling oporoko & cray fish. Nothing wrong with hawking too, as long as it isn't sex, or something illegal that is being hawked. It is her mindless, ridiculous, peurile attempts to deride other ethnic groups that is so irritating. Someone must have flung her around when she was a child, and so she landed on her head. That was obviously when the screws got loose in her brain. Pity.

by the way, Phillip emeghwali (or however y'all pronounce his name) is not the father of the internet, get your facts straight. Also, has Chinua Achebe won a Nobel Prize yet. Also, who was Nigeria's first millitary dictator (in otherwords who led to Nigeria's demise)? Last time i checked he was supposed to be Igbo.

Emeagwali is a fraud. Its not a matter of jealousy its the truth Have you idiots started again? Now let me clear you some clues, before blackman is refereed as monkeys and apes now that Igbos proved to whites that they are equal to whites they just give us name fraudstars. then some lazy Afros(niggers) stick on that due to their inability to give their brain a test if survival will come on their way. when a slave knows more than his master he is a disobedient servant, to me it's out of cleverness.

All you people should stop trashing igbo's and reeellaxx!! What is the problem for christs sake!!! @ cita 'ibu ewucambex!' - you are a goat! Just look at the foolish comment u made about rituals. I wont even waste my breath on a primitive person such as yourself. Theres no need for the tribalistic views. I'm igbo myself and have my own ambitions and goals in life and every other tribe, whether yoruba, hausa, uruobo or calabar ohh should concentrate on there own and look at 'OUR NIGERIAN ACHIEVERS!' after all isnt all these tribes one country?
