Can Anyone Recommend A Good Remote Admin
« on: February 07, 2006, 11:55 PM »

I have realized a good number of people has PC related problem(s) and need urgent help from IT professional.  I was wondering if it would be nice to have a remote admin support, so people of Nairaland can enjoy first line support.

I use this logmein to help my IT naive friends with software/hardware related issues.  If you have used any remote admin could you post the link(s) so we can critique there strenghth and weakness.

Finally, is it a good idea to have member of Nairaland install some sort of remote admin to help people with IT related issues?

Windows XP Remote Assistance should be suitable for most purposes.  Is there anything in particular that it lacks that would make one want to use a third party remote admin tool?

I've been using Secure Shell server, SSH. Mostly because i manage *.nix systems. Like Seun said, Windows XP remote assistance is ok except for the platform dependency and, again i think it only works with the XP series/version.
