Come to think of it, I remember back in my Uni days, a group of Eritreans started to speak to me in their language. When I couldn't reply, they asked me where I was from and I said Nigeria. They told me that vthere was a particular tribe in Eritrea that resembled me. There was another guy from Eritrea who I used to talk to, he later told me he thought I was Eritrean. My older sisters get the same thing, people think they are East African. Its no biggie since we are from the same continent. I don't understand what all the anger is about on this subject, aren't Ethiopians Africans and Black?

There have been migrations within Africa for centuries. At the end of the day, its just a suggestion, noone is trying to kill anyone, lol.

Come to think of it, my friend who is Jamaican conducted a DNA test to find her roots, she ended up originating from Mozambique. her people had migrated from there to West Africa before the slave trade. It goes to show that we know very little about intra African migrations before the slave trade.

Where ever the Igbos are from, we are proud Africans. Theres is really no need to be overly emotional about someones thought.

@Ethioguy, noone is saying it is fact, but it is a possibility. Whether Ethiopians or Igbo's accept that possibility is totally irrelevant. You yourself know that not all Ethiopians look the same or look  stereotypical. I have no clue whether the suggestion is true, but I know its fact that I've been told there is a tribe in Eritrea that resemble me, I take the word of Eritreans that its true. Does it mean there is a connection, not necessarily. Does it mean that further investigation should be made, maybe.

Its not that big of a deal and I wouldn't want to upset any Ethiopians by suggesting that they could possibly be connected with West Africans, let alone Nigerians. I know that would devastate far too many and I wouldn't want to make anyone feel dirty.
