RA's theory is right if its contemplated on kind of music you listen to as opposed to the particular artiste. For example if I have a penchant for juju or fuji music, you can easily conclude that I'm a "Mushin" kind of person (apologies to mushin folks).

For me, I have always been a lover of Jazz. Jazz, people say is for the matured mind :-)
I particularly like Ark Blakey's Jazz messenger, Kirk Whallum, Earl Klugh and Bright Gain

I love all kinds of music.  I have music ranging from Hip Hop to Classical, Smooth Jazz to Country Shocked

Right now I'm loving:

Shake it Off- Mariah Carey
Jamrock- Devin Marley
Let's Get it On- Marvin Gaye
Got to Breathe- Toni Braxton
Joy- Whitney Houston
Moonlight Sonata- Beethovan
The whole musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber- Jesus Christ, Superstar

I really miss songs from way back when the music was original.  Now I hear recycled music from the 60's and 70's with a new age twist.  Oh well, the more things change the more they stay the same.

Motown and music from the 70's, 80's, and early 90's seem to dominate my music collection.  Every time I hear them they seem to bring back fond memories of what I was doing at that time in life.  I love music with a passion.

Back then, there were true love songs and very talented singers.  Now it all seems to be about sex, money, and status and voices are altered in the studio. Cry

U r right vexxy. Music these days has been adulterated. Every1 wants to be a star. Rubbish on airwaves.

I also luv music to ma bones. I had to learn the guitar and piano so i can be closer to music. I love 'her' so much.

They play that song so much on the radio that it drives me crazy!  He says that "back then they didn't want me" line about 36 times....yes, they've played it so much that I have counted the amount of times he says it before they cut the song off.

Guess that's one of the disadvantages of having an hour long commute to and from work.

I love all types of music but specific songs depend on the beat (which makes me like songs that Dr. Dre and Timberland produced).

It happened to me with Pimpin all over the world.  I loved it till they played it so much I couldn't stand it.  I've really grown to like that Shake it Off song from Mariah and they haven't played it too much.  Give them some time and I'm sure they'll over do it again.

Oh i still hate pimpin all over the world. I just don't feel the song. I love mariah carey's shake it off (it's the ringtone i set for my dad). "shake, shake, shake, shake shake it off" I like the way she said "she'll get her loiu vuiton and what not.  Smiley . They Over-play most of these songs, to the extent they'll make u sick of the songs.

Re: Your Kind of Music
« #56 on: August 21, 2005, 03:32 AM »

So true!

It's your Dad's ringtone? L.O.L.

I like when she says, "pack all my diamonds and clothes, just ask yo momma she knows..."

A story broke in the NY Times a few weeks ago that big executives at the music companies were bribing the DJ's to play specific songs.  The more times the songs were played helped boost the artists reputation.  Most of the songs that were on the top of the charts were only there because money was being handed out under the table.

If the songs were really good, that wouldn't need to happen.  They need to go back to making songs that really moved people.

U r sooooo Right!

Yeah when my dad calls me, My phone rings as "shake it off...by mariah carey, The part where she said

"By the time you get this message
It's gonna be too late
So don't bother paging me
Cause I'll be on my way
See I grabbed all my diamonds and clothes
Just ask your momma she knows
You're gonna miss me baby "
