well there are basically 2 options, you either come to Canada on a work permit, or you apply for permanent residence as a 'skilled worker' there are quite a few biotech firms in Canada, though i don't really know too much about them www.workopolis.com is a good canadian job search engine, as well as www.monster.cathe only snag is that whoever decides to employ you must justify to the canadian govt. that the position could not be filled from within Canada, not necessarily a problem if you're in high demand. if you want to relocate (as in live in Canada permanently), then the permanent residence application is your best bet. I don't know if you have legal status in the UK, but if you don't you might need to return to Nigeria to apply, and it takes at least 3 years to come through. the time-span may be shorter if you apply from the UK though, that depends on your status there. for more immigration info check our www.cic.gc.cayou can buzz me on YIM if you need to talk more. wish you all the b est.

check out this forum also http://www.canadaimmigrants.com/forum_2.aspMarch 3 - 2007, Sharmila. Burnaby, BC.In my opinion, Canada is inviting immigrants simply for the money they bring in. Think about it. I don't know about the landing fees they are charging now but when we immigrated, the fee was $950. If as claimed, Canada is accepting 250,000 immigrants per year, multiply that number by 950. The number is mind-boggling - $ 2,37,500,000. That's why they want immigrants. The Canadian government could care less what happens to those immigrants once they come in to the country. They know that these immigrants can either work at low paying labour jobs or leave the country in disappointment. There will be many other suckers that will come if some leave, and in fact each new batch will bring in a lot of the dollars that make this country a wealthy one in the world's eyes. The money brought in flows into the government's coffers. The government gives false impressions to educated and eager young people in poorer countries, so that they can feel that there's so many opportunities in Canada. In fact, they will be working harder than they would in their home countries and yet be barely able to make ends meet. The business world here exploits immigrants and the Government turns a blind eye because after all, they have got their money. Another taxpayer is added to the population without having gone to the trouble of spending on schooling and other benefits that young Canadians receive, what does it matter to the government in what conditions the immigrant lives and works? And so, every year another fresh batch of young, hopeful, educated doctors, engineers, architects, teachers, and other professionals come in to be the janitors, caregivers, security guards, gas station workers and Subway "sandwich artists" in this country.

panful but true story, although many immigrants have different stories, cases such as the above are unfortunately frequent.
Anyone planning to emigrate should fully examine his choices and the consequences of each one.

DAFMAN,
Correct Guy. you said it all.But the only way an immigrant can get a little bit of hope in Canada is going to school here in Canada. The government cares less about peoples welfare, they are in it because of the money. Most educated immigrants come here to do odd jobs. Some peopel are lucky though.BUT IN GENERAL ITS SAD.I'm done school here in Decemeber, MA PEOPLE, IM COMING BACK HOME RIGHT AWAY.

pplus what and where are u studying? I'm in BC doing engineering
bros it is not rosy for everyone, that is the truth, but some people do make it, you simply have to be tough, keep your eyes and ears open and make good contacts/Networking. You cannot survive as an island out here all on your own.

I completely thank all those involved in this not.canada.com. Infact, a lot of people are seeing it at my instance right now. I would have led myself and more of my clleagues into some sort of lives pit. But I would have opted to go to jail if I had made the mistake because I would have involved both drugs and fraud in return of my disappointments. I thank you all once more. May the Lord bless you real good.
