First of all: Do you believe in the Bible? If you do, this is what it says: "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was GOD". (John. 1:1) (Note: Jehovah witness' Bibles have been modified thus "and the word was (a) god: this is a deliberate act to make Jesus seem separated from the God-head). And the word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14) Reading in between verses 1 and 14, and even beyond, the Bible explains that John (the Baptist bore witness of him-refering to Jesus). There are three that bear record (witness) in heaven, the Father, the Word and the holy spirit, and these three are one. (1st John 5:7) (Note: some Jehovah witness' bibles have this very verse modified also. In their Bibles the verse reads: "the spirit is the witness because the spirit is the truth", others read: "there are three that bear witness, the water, the blood and the spirit"). So, i advised that you check it out in it's original form as written in the ancient English King James Version or the New King James Version.
Now, Remember that God didn't make anything with his hand during the creations, he spoke them out. That same word with which he created everything, was sent into the word to show the way, the word came in the form of a man named Jesus. Psalm 107:20 says: he sent his word and heals us of our distresses. In the book of revelation, john said His name is written on his girdle and it reads "FAITHFUL AND TRUE, THE WORD OF GOD". Rev. 19:11-13 & 16). He is not called Jesus in heaven, Jesus means Saviour. Those in heaven don't need a saviour, we on earth call him Jesus because we needed a saviour, we also call him Emmanuel, an assurance that God is with us A man is not complete without his word and power, likewise the God-head is not complete without the word (Jesus) and the power (the Holy Spirit) otherwise, God is dumb and powerless. Therefore, Jesus is the word of God, who became flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit. So, i confess that Jesus is Lord and God. How many of you will confess that Jesus is Lord and God? Just ask those people who confuse Jesus with God this. If Jesus is God then who was he (Jesus) praying too?
Was he praying to himself? I have been asking them but no response yet. These are the verses you requested answers for: Luke 5:16 "And he (Jesus) withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed to his God." Matthew 26:39 "And going a little way forward, he (Jesus) fell upon his face, praying and saying 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.' " Here in this verse we see two things: (1) Jesus bowed down on his face and prayed in submission to his GOD in obedience. (2) Jesus was begging his GOD to let the cup pass away from him. Jesus did not have the power to will it for himself and make the cup pass away from Jesus. GOD had to do it for Jesus !. How can Jesus be the Creator of this Universe?!!! Matthew 26:42 "Again, for the second time, he (Jesus) went off and prayed, saying: 'My Father, if it is not possible for this to pass away except I drink it, let your will take place.'" Jesus begged his GOD to will what Jesus wanted to happen. Jesus couldn't will it by himself.Matthew 26:44 "So leaving them, he (Jesus) went off and prayed for the third time, saying once more the same word." Here we see that Jesus for the third time begged his GOD to will what Jesus wished for in Matthew 26:39 above. How can Jesus be the Creator of this Universe if he (1) begs, and (2) lacks power?! The father is God, the son is Gos, Holy Spirit is God yet they are not equal. The sin againt son of man has forgiveness but that of holy has no forgiveness yet they are same. @vijustice Let me know if you are ready for me. The questions will be based on verses from your bible.

If he went off to pray by himself, how did the authors of the bible know what he said? Jesus spent forty days after His resurrection with His disciples, teaching them both the things concerning Himself and those concerning the Kingdom: Luke 24:27 "And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." Acts 1:3 "To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God."

When a christian dies, y'all say he/she's gone to be with your lord, but y'all also say the dead in christ will rise again on judgement day. So how can they rise again, if they are already in heaven?

Hi Dios. First, I'd rather say three things: (a) I'm also a "mongoloid" - super black and chocolaty! (b) I find other "mongoloids" quite intelligent and have been sweetly challenged by their contributions; (c) I think whoever you are, you could easily pass for an intelligent person as well. Now the question: When a christian dies, y'all say he/she's gone to be with your lord, but y'all also say the dead in christ will rise again on judgement day. So how can they rise again, if they are already in heaven? Infact, I had tried to explain this in a rather long rejoinder broken into parts for easier reading in another thread - where I tried to distinguish between the various spheres that may not be so easy for many to grasp. The gist is this: (a) death in Christian terms is to be "absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" ( 2 Cor. 5:8 - see also Php. 1:23). (b) it is the spirit of man that goes to be with the Lord, while the body is buried and decays in the grave( Eccl. 12:7) (c) at death, everyone goes to a general place called HADES, which is simply the place of the departed. But what is interesting to note is that HADES is a single sphere with TWO components, as I've already explained in the other thread. Let me excerpt the relevant section: The second thing to note here is this: HADES is a single sphere that has two components: (a) the place where the wicked are kept until the day of Judgement; (b) the place of rest where the righteous wait until the glorious resurrection.
These two spheres are lucidly given in Luke 16, and the key to understanding Jesus' parable in that chapter is to note that He wasn't speaking about the FINAL Judgement! Many people fail to see this, but vs. 22 says that when the beggar died, he was 'carried by angels into ABRAHAM's bossom'. Of course, Abraham's bossom is not 'heaven'; neither did Jesus mean by that parable to be speaking of the DAY of Judgement and Rewards. He spoke clearly of the two components of HADES - the one where the wicked are reserved unto the Day of Judgement to be punished (see and compare with 2 Pet. 2:9 and Jude 1:6); and the other component parabolically expressed as 'Abraham's bossom - which is the sphere of the righteous until the resurrection when they are rewarded (compare with Rev. 6:9 & 10). So, this is how they stand out: (a) the place where the wicked are kept until the day of Judgement ( 2 Pet. 2:9 - "to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished"; and Jude 1:6 - "reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day"); (b) the place of rest where the righteous wait until the glorious resurrection ( Revelation 6:9-10). In all, what this means is that when a Christian dies, his/her spirit goes to be with the Lord. But at the second coming, they will be raised in glorified bodies not subject to death (Php. 3:21 - "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself"). I'm not one of those who thinks that when a Christian dies, he/she goes to "heaven". I appreciate and respect the persuasions of others who feel that way; but, as mentioned earlier, the second compartment of HADES where the righteous are preserved unto the Day of resurrection is not to be confused for HEAVEN. It is ONLY at the return of Jesus Christ that believers will be taken to HEAVEN itself. I hope this helps; but if I have missed out something, I'd be happy to consider it. Cheers.

What happened to our ancestors that didn't get a chance to hear the "good news"? Good question. The simple answer is found in Rom. 2:6-16, and can be neatly outlined as follows: (a) God will render to everyone according to their deeds (vs. 6) (b) to those who patiently continued in well doing, He would give eternal life (vs. 7 & 10); and to those who consciously chose to be evil, He would mete out His wrath (vs.8 & 9) (c) vss. 12-13 states that a person is not justified by merely "hearing" God's Law, but by doing it. Now, here's the core of your question: what then happens (or happened) to those who have never heard - never heard about the LAW, never heard about Christ, never heard about the Bible, never heard about Christianity and Biblical eschatology, etc. . .? Our answer is in vss. 14 - 16, and the key word is "conscience": (d) those who were never given a codified LAW ( such as the Law of Moses) knew the principles of God's law in their hearts and consciences. For example, many who never even heard of the Bible, yet knew in their hearts and consciences that such things as LYING, STEALING, etc. are evil. If they chose to harden their consciences and hearts against the warning of such, they were making a conscious effort to deliberately go against those principles which God put in their hearts (compare Eccl. 3:11 - "He has set eternity in their heart" - so that we could be mindful about questions of our destiny). (e) However, God will judge the secrets of men ( all issues that spring from our motives and formulate our actions, Prov. 4:23) - and that Judgement will be executed by His Son, Jesus Christ - Rom. 2:16. People who have lived in the past without having heard anything about Christ and the Bible will definitely be judged by their deeds (Rev. 20:13); but this is based on the motives of the heart (Prov. 4:23 - "Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life"). However, God requires everyone to repent today as they hear the Gospel ("good news") of Jesus Christ ( Acts 17:30). How one responds to the Gospel ( accepts or rejects it) is the defining factor in the Judgement. Cheers.

A LIE posted by pilgrim on the 13.08.07 @ 9.32 AMThe simple answer is found in Rom. 2:6-16, and can be neatly outlined as follows: Why do you love quoting Paul. the liar. Paul lied too convince you Mr Pilgrim1, Is this the sort of person you give your loyalty too? Romans 3 : 7 7: For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? Now Mr Pilgrim1, what did the bible tell you about lies? If we are talking about truth why do you need too lie? What is a lie? John 8: 44 "44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." Mr Pilgrim1, Does your God need you too lie to promote him, and make him look bigger than he is? Mr Pilgrim1, You have become like Paul the liar. Lying to make God look bigger than he is.

. . .
Mr Pilgrim1, You have become like Paul the liar. Lying to make God look bigger than he is. @Kuns, First of all, I want to thank you for your continued slanders. However, let me share some matters with you: Rom 3:4-8 "God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? And not rather, ( as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just." I trust you can see the context of what Paul was saying in Romans 3? Speaking in general terms the way people often did in his day (" I speak as a man"), he employed expressions familiar to the Greeks of his day. However, he goes on to anticipate the fact that some who have ulterior motives (such as you do) would later come back and misquote him without a basic understanding of the Greek language and construct. That is why he interjected: "( as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say) Let us do evil, that good may come". Is it not clear that you have a slanderous motive in endlessly misquoting that text, Mr. Kuns? Kuns, I really don't mind your slanders; but it doesn't cost anything to be objective and honest to yourself if you'd rather choose to be otherwise to others who read your inputs. Accusations with ulterior motives such as yours are evidently self-defeating; and you would do well to drop that habit, if you care. In the same ROMANS, Paul made it clear that he was not a man who chose to lie in ministering the Gospel committed to his trust - let's see a few of them you deliberately refused to quote from the same ROMANS and elsewhere in other epistles: ROMANS 9:1 -- " I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost" 2 CORINTHIANS 11:31 -- "The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not." GALATIANS. 1:20 -- "Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not." 1 TIMOTHY 2:7 -- "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, ( I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity." Mr. Kuns, I am not bothered at all that you have not demonstrated any objective sense and fairness in your self-defeating slanders. However, I would just like to know WHY you have chosen to ignore all those verses above where Paul categorically presented his case? WHY have you ignored those verses, Kuns? WHY have you chosen to be among those who make a career out of "slanderously reporting" issues as if you want to prove the statement to be rather true of YOU: "do evil so that good may come" (Roms. 3:8)? You're not alone in this "slander", Kuns. Muslims also slander Paul as well - they've called him every slanderous name you can imagine under the sun. But what have they achieved? What have you achieved by your slanders, Kuns? In any case, I don't wish you any condemnation; but I'd rather you come to see the love of God in Christ, so that you also may come to experience true living grace in Him. Cheers. :)

Nice answer pilgrim, but that's really contradictory to the "only path to god is through christ" ideology. Anyway I think, the only reason you're a christian is because it's what you were taught to believe in while growing up. You'll never accept other religions' beliefs so there's little chance that people who were born into other religions will believe this "christ story". Afterall we are all products of our environments. So a fair god can't send people who don't believe in christ to "hell" because they all seek him through their own little ways just like y'all christians do.It's also wrong to believe Isreal is the center of this god's affection. Gentlemen, good morning. Let's lay our disaffections aside and be more accommodating to one another so that we can, at least, communicate. @Dios, Thank you for your reaction to my previous posts; and I would dare say that everyone's intelligent in their respective rights (IMHO). In anycase, let me see what little I can offer to the latest concerns you've expressed: Nice answer pilgrim, but that's really contradictory to the "only path to god is through christ" ideology. Actually, I don't suppose so. My reason is because even Scripture bears out that those who lived before the incarnation of Christ were actually in contact with and influenced by Him (although they did not realize it so, as He was not known to them as "Jesus Christ"). Let me quote just two such texts: (1). 1 Pet. 1:10-11 >> The prophets in the OT had clear convictions about the Christ, even though they didn't understand everything about Him, or as much as we now do: "Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." (2). Job 19:25 >> Even Job had a conviction about the Redeemer, even though he did not know Him as "Jesus Christ": "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth" So, even though the people who lived before the NT did not know Him as "Jesus Christ", yet, God Himself already set this convictions in their hearts; although they did not know the details about Him as we now do. Even before the nations spread worldwide, the promise was given way back to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15 where the Seed of the woman was apprently referring to Christ. Anyway I think, the only reason you're a christian is because it's what you were taught to believe in while growing up. You'll never accept other religions' beliefs so there's little chance that people who were born into other religions will believe this "christ story". I appreciate your observation. However, my Christian convictions today are not a result of what I was taught to believe in 'while growing up'. Actually, I was formerly a Muslim; and my conversion came slowly. . after several years of deep reflections and study. Your questions are appreciated more so because they were part of the same questions that bothered me in my former religion - unfortunately, I used those questions to deride Christianity, blah-blah. Yet, the reason why I'm persuaded that people cannot evade the question of Christ in their lives (regardless of their religious convictions) is because they would have to stand before Him on the Day of reckoning. Like I said in my previous rejoinder, it is a matter of defining one's destiny by whatever response they make to who Christ is in their lives - either the REJECT Him outrightly; or they RECEIVE Him with conviction in their hearts. Perhaps this throws us back again to the question of those who NEVER HEARD about Christ? Well, same answer already offered as found in Rom. 2:6-16 - each one will receive according to what they deserve. Afterall we are all products of our environments. So a fair god can't send people who don't believe in christ to "hell" because they all seek him through their own little ways just like y'all christians do. First, I'm not of the persuasion that we are 'products of our environments' (if I catch your context). And even so, to "NOT" believe in Christ would mean that they made a conscious decision to reject Him. If one never heard of "Jesus Christ", that is a different matter - and the text I referred to (Rom. 2) has answers to the question of those who 'never heard'. "For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law" (Rom. 2:12). On the other hand, for those who have heard and then make a conscious decision to reject Him, the same epistle to the Romans declares that they are without excuse: "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them" (Rom. 1:19). You may recall I made the point earlier about the "conscience" - and that is precisely what (in my understanding) is conveyed by the highlighted part of that text. It's also wrong to believe Isreal is the center of this god's affection. Why was this "saviour" not from Africa? God has shown His affections to every nation of the world: Rom. 3:29 -- "Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also". Psa. 67:2 -- "That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations." It is remarkable that the first mention of any priest in the Bible was a GENTILE priest ('Melchizedek' - Gen. 14:18); and certainly, there were other "Gentile" priests (besides the Jewish ones) who knew and served the LORD (e.g., 'the priest of Midian' - Exo. 18:1). However, what is even more remarkable to note is that God in His sovereignty chose ISRAEL for His COVENANT through whom the entire world would be blessed - according to His promise to the patriarch Abraham: Gen. 17:7 and 22:18 -- "And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee . . . And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice." Secondly, for me personally, it is immaterial whether Africa or some other continent should have been the place where the Saviour could have emerged. It might be interesting to do a little check and see the background of the ancestry of Christ. Why did we have to be put in chains ro learn about him? We were not meant to be 'put in chains' to learn about Him. At least, I could speak for myself - I never was put in chains to learn about Christ. Why after all these prayers, Africans still live in the pits of hell compared to other countries in the world? If this biblical god is real, he definitely ain't black. God transcends race - He is neither 'white' nor 'black', and His love is open to all regardless of their background. On the other hand, to suppose that development and economic wealth of nations could be predicated on 'all these prayers' of Africans is to mix up issues. The level of development of African countries is a conglomerate of many different factors; so it is actually unhealthy to assume that the developed nations of the world got to where they are because they prayed to a 'white' god. Lol, we need to divest ourselves of this blame-game of seeing such problems through the prism of skin colour. Jesus is for jews, and don't give me that "he's for jews and gentiles alike" because I damn sure ain't no gentile. I'm an AFRICAN. Jesus offers His love to both Jews and Gentiles - and that's why I can be thankful that though I'm not a Jew, He included me in His redemptive love. And if there's any set of people who desperately need to re-discover this divine grace, it is AFRICANS. Regards

When I said he's not black, i didn't imply that he's white, yellow or any other colour. What I mean is so much energy is expended on this religion and these people toil everyday without nothing to show for it, meanwhile they wait for the apocalypse or rapture and expect some jew to descend from the sky and take them to paradise. Some college students allegedly went missing and they were later found in the forest next to their campus talking bout "we are praying and fasting for rapture because there's too much sin in the world" really? You were not put in chains put don't you think the "slaves" were probably beaten or threatened so they didn't have a choice but to accept that dude and africans were just conned by the sight of these "oyinbo's with mirrors and guns" so they just accepted the bullshit too.?i I respect your opinions though, but this really is an exercise in futility because i can't go back into believing that thing, there's just too many holes. You on the other hand have your rock solid faith. I like you, you need to tell the born agains on these forum how to communicate because they are so quick to come out the wrong side of their mouths and say dumb things, invoking thw wrath of god and whatnot. Faith is just the belief in something you can't prove.

God has shown His affections to every nation of the world: Jesus offers His love to both Jews and Gentiles - and that's why I can be thankful that though I'm not a Jew, He included me in His redemptive love. And if there's any set of people who desperately need to re-discover this divine grace, it is AFRICANS. Regards I Just need an explanation on Jesus offering his love to both Jews and Gentiles with regards to the Canaanite woman 21:Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22: And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23: But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24: But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25: Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26: But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27: And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 28: Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. why did jesus say he was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel It seems absurd that JC as a God will compare the woman to a dog did jesus or God need to make such a rude and caustic remark to heal the Canaanite daughter? personally this is a strange way to show love and affection

Look you stupid faggot, I wasn't talkintoyou anyway, I was talking to pilgrim who answers my questions with intelligence unlike your dumbass. My questions are not shallow, you're just too simple, so don't blaim your ineptitude on the "shallow nature of my questions", if you don't have an answer ,please just STFU. I'm not a muslim either, i bunch y'all together in the same category of loonies. Excluding Pilgrim of course.
Concerning the image, you mad because the douchebag with long hair popped into your head ain't you? Well that's the image that's been seared into your brain since you were old enough to talk and my point is you've been worshipping and fantisizing about the day you're going to meet that white dude and that dude doesn't exist.
lol what a complete tool. keep decieving yourself on the wide and comfortable road to hell. Pilgrim.1 can quote passages from now till next yr, it wont do any good to people like you whose consciences have been seared with a hot iron that you should believe a lie.

Look you, I already admitted to her that I'll never believe in your christian stories so you really didn't have to bring that up again. You say I believe a lie, well i think you also believe a lie and now that we agree on something why don't you die and go and be with your lord.

sorry bro, as long as we remain here we will continue to be the pricks on your guilty consciences. Why are you not bothering about the muslims, their god and their own version of heaven or hell? since you have said u don't believe in christian "stories" why are you here struggling so desperately to disprove them? you do not believe the muslim version either but NONE of you hypocrites makes long threads about it! Go ahead and educate us on whether mohammed was white or black. No one is forcing you to accept our stories, all we ask is that you just stick to being freethinkers and stop worrying about whether heaven or God exists or not. What are you afraid of?
