Caf Protest Flying Eagles Ouster From The World Cup
« on: July 17, 2007, 01:53 PM »

Caf is protesting the ill treatment suffered by the flying eagles of Nigeria in the ongoing Fifa Under20 world cup.

Do you think anything will come out of this? We have already been cheated, we are out already, so what's the need for the fight. This is not the first time this kind of thing will be happening.

I'll advice Fifa stop African teams from participating than ridiculing them at the end.

A quick question. . .

If the ref wasn't ''partial'', would Nigeria have won Chile?

that not taking away the determination of the boys,  just hope they transcend ithe U23. It's sad the preparation was shoddy,  if we had beaten the chileans, worse preparation would take place before major competitions,  We never learn from past mistakes

Shame on CAF and anybody backing their decision.

Why didn't they call on Bosso and his boys to learn how to score before the match?
If the boys had taken their chances, would they have lost that match scandalously?

CAF should go and sit down jare.  Embarrassed  Embarrassed  Embarrassed

So what did the Nigerian lads do to win the game. If chile didnt have a goalkeeper that day they would still have beaten us because most of those boys are too poor e.g Ezekiel Bala

Thank you dayokanu.

Those guys would have fared better in beach soccer jare. I don't know why they were not allowed
to represent us.

A coach that is comfortable with the same style of play in 5 matches is not worthy of being called a coach.
No new ideas in 5 matches? That is INCREDIBLE!  Shocked

The boys were more comfortable selling their dribbling skills than being commited to winning.

Na wa o. I wonder where CAF and NFA dey when those boys were being purposeless. Maybe if
Howard Webb had disallowed 5 of our goals, we would have had causes to cry wolf. But since
that is not the case CAF and their cohorts should  Lips sealed

Those players should be taken to a beach and have their asses thrashed in public.
I have never seen a Nigerian team that is so pathetic.
If Nigeria was beaten and they showed good quality i would be satisfied.
Afterall, its not really about winning. Its about player development.

The team that fell to Messi's treachery and trickery in 2005 was loads better.
A team can lose and still show character, determination and grit. I didnt see that on sunday.
Nigeria did not deserve to win that match by any means. The whole team was shambolic.
The Pepsi Academy boys in Lagos could have done a better job.

There was no flow of passes in the entire 120 mins.
The boys couldnt even orchestrate decent passes within their own half.
Nothing was done to change the match at all and the people that came in as subs were much worse than the ones that went out.
CAF and NFA are plonkers to even think of defending this team.
It was a show of shame.

BOLLOCKX.

The issue here, is not how the boys played. Non of you out there criticising their style of play can do as much as half of what they are playing. its easier said outside the pitch than done inside it.

The bone of contention here, is the soiled integrity of our fatherland, on that pitch in far away Montreal.

What a shame to all FIFA has been doing all through the year, on refreeing.

I thought Graham Poll was to be of caution to English Football administration, but alas.

Now they are happy. Their Argentina can go ahead and win the cup if they can.

Lets now watch how they officiate between the two American nations. Will they implore the Norwagian that denied us two years ago to do the trick against Chile, or its Argentina's turn to be cheated?

Only a boycott by CAF in all FIFA organised tourneys can effect our stance on this issue, or rather, if CAF is reluctant, Nigeria can. Atleast, we did it against CAF in 1996.

take it or leave it,

fifa will be very happy to miss nigeria if nigeria decides to boycott fifa-organised tournaments. nigeria needs fifa. fifadoes not need nigeria.
isn't nigeria campagning to host the world cup? the boycott will really help nigeria to host fifa-organised games, innit?
if our boys are good enough, referee decisions wouldn't have mattered.
are u saying Howard Webb would have denied nigeria a valid goal if the boys had scored?
for fcuk's sake, wake up!!!!!!! nigeria lost the match because they were not good enough. its about time we stop blaming referees for our inadequacies and inefficient football administration.
nigeria lost to chile because they were poor. howard webb/fifa had nothing to do with it.

Whwnever Nigeria loses ther is always a partial ref. Please lest be realistic those guys had only 2 decent chances thruout the whole game and we complain that we lost.I don't think the ref was partial. Even if he was for the first goal and the penalty, they would have still won 2-0 so?

Thing is we never accept our faults and work to improve instead always trying to lay blames.

It is not the issue of loosing here. Its all about the rule of the game.

If the flying Eagles were not good enough to win, then, Chile must not be influenced to win. I mean, is it now an issue of 'knowing' someone before you can win a tourney?

lmao. . . @most of the comments.

Seriously, we'll never learn. I can't be bothered about Nigerian football since the last nations cup. It's sad but wetin man go do?

If you attack NFA they'll attack you back. No one wants to call a spade a spade. We'll remain in shambles until we're ready to learn. Nonsense!

what's next now? 2008 nations cup huh?  Grin

Kubed,

na wa for you o. Is it that Sepp Blatter has changed nationality or what? What is this issue about
knowing someone?

oh oh maybe Howard's wife is from Chile and he happens to have one of his In-laws on the field that day.

Abegi, leave story. Those boys are not just GOOD enough!  Cool

So what if they are no friends? Does that mean FIFA will have to ensure we lose at all cost?

Bosso should go back to Wikki Tourist jare. What does he no technically? I learnt he was
making racist taunt at the refree during the Press Conference  Embarrassed

Maybe it is Webb that disturbed those guys from scoring. Rubbish

I listened to kaakaki this morning and bosso should be congratulated for getting this far. Don't let us waste our citizens like this.d guy should be sent for more coaching courses since it was obvious that team lacked technical abilities. D south americans know how to simulate very well in order to fool d referee which was exactly what messi did to us. Issa don tey 4 that post. I just remembered that in africa, money could talk over integrity so things can be compromised and my idea of boycott might just remain an utopian ideology!
