Help Make A Decision
« on: July 17, 2007, 08:46 PM »

I work for a power engineering as IT admin, lately I am not enjoying the job because I actually relocated because of the job from Lagos to PH. But PH I have discovered is totally not it. Things are just coming to a halt and the town is not friendly but to be frank there is money in the oil city , all u need is to be properly positioned and the favour of God.
Now I had an offer to move to an airline firm in Lagos , just two months after I got to PH last year  but I refused. I have come to realize that,that was a big mistake because the airline firm paid a whole lot more than I earn here.
Now the issue is this I have not learnt a great deal despite the fact I work with a lot of equipment…am exposed to lot of facilities but am not feeling fulfilled and the present working package is poor.
Now the issue is I got a job offer from a friend in lagos who has just taken over a stock broken firm as an MD and he wants me to come and do IT for him, with promise to show me stuff in stocks (mentor knd of thing) The pay difference is a little more than what I take presently and it is in Lagos.
I just want to get you guys opinion,  I am really confused…

@donclemo, I advise you start a new thread.

@akin, it might not be very wise to work with a close pal as there may be some inhibitions; though this may depend on the trust, competence, and closeness. From all indications, burnout is begining to set in so you have to act fast. If everything fails to interest you in your present job, you may start looking elsewhere.

Cheers.

@akin,

this is a decison you have to make all by yourself. This is your point of decision. Take a look at my signature  Cool

What is wrong with working with a friend? If you decide to work for him with an
open mind, then there is nothing to be afraid of. If if things get sour later, you can
always opt out my man. He will not use a rope to tie you down.  Wink

@chy I really appreciate your concern, well when I say this person is a friend, I mean I have met him before n comfortable with him because he has been nice to me, would u rather love to work with someone who wishes u well or a system that has no room for your growth, without package for u.

Don't u think at the mo, Lagos is more fascinating to be than PH that everyone is running out of.
