Poisonous venom from a snake is about the last thing you'D think of using as medicine.Just because something kills you at high dose doesn't mean it can't help you at lower doses.
Well i know this might sound strange but its true,Cobra snake venom can be clinically treated by removing their toxins and the protien compounded in order to treat HIV and Multiple sclerosis. The medicine is certainly economical as 1 kilogram of modified venom could be enough to produce a million doses of a drug to treat HIV.
Now when i say "Treat HIV" i don't mean cure i mean it can used as "A Retro-viral to supress the virus"
altought i'm an IT professional, im very much interested in doing research on developing retroviral drugs using venom, may be who knows we can start developing our own HIV retro viral drugs here in Nigeria.
So finally,i need pure breed african or indian cobra snakes and will appreciate leads on how i can source them locally and preferably not from India due to high cost transporting them down here.
