Maybe you and denex should face the Nigerians spoiling our image home and abroad. I don't know why you are all making noise when no link has been provided to support whether O said what has been ascribed to her. Keep making noise you hear. A t least am happy in nigeria we don't have high percentage of children that got involve in drug at early age.I was in East london sumtimes back what i saw there kept me thinkin for days. see young children ,11yrs old or thereabout already nvolve in drugs alot of children like that.join gangs at a very young age. a lot of youth that don't even know what they want in life.carrying guns up and down Which part of Nigeria do you stay? I am sure not in Lagos, because if you do, you will witness a lot of this going on in places like AJ City, Ojuelegba, Yaba, Ebute Metta, and several other parts of Lagos. Because of the hardship that has being caused a lot of people, you see even 8 year olds being conductors in buses all around. Have you heard of the word "Osanle" before. Name callings directed at Oprah based on what she was alleged to have said is in order.
Unless she did not say these things I find it supremely hard to see reason with people that are defending her.
Even if some Nigerians are corrupt it does not make every Nigerian corrupt and this is a fact.
Only stupi, lazy and greedy people fall for scam, abi no be the same letter wey we dey see for our emails everyday?
Meanwhile, the sheer number of scam emails come from the West where run many small scale fraud based businesses. it's just that Nigerians run large scale ones in terms of the financial angle.

Just take a quick browse through the thread, especially the one before my first post on this issue. We even have links of the show transcript or something like that and what she said was not similar to what we accuse her of.
This is just a media craze.
Again like i've said before, if anyone says All . . . - it is an exaggeration, a generalisation of fallacy. All men are liars or All politicians are thieves in no way means that each element in the set is guilty of the crime accused.
Please reconsider your stance on this matter.

Then, i doubt if shes really got the temperament to maintain her 'credibility' So much happens in the States, bank robberies,gun wielding,rape,etc. i think we can still remember the virginia tech incident. i don't think she came out to label the koreans as murderers.
All the hue and cry about Nigeria is uncalled for. no matter how Nigeria is, we still hold our own anywhere in the world. im sure you know a Nigerian is the VP of worldbank. Thats an enviable position a criminal and fraudster would never attain no matter the intensity of the lobbying. I don't believe Oprah said that! I am an African American woman married to a Nigerian man. Prayerfully, he will join me in the next few months. I saw a special where Oprah was interviewing women who had been taken advantage of by Nigerian scammers, and each one told their story. At the end of the special on television, Oprah said, "This is in no way to say ALL Nigerians are like this, but these particular "isolated" incidents occurred with Nigerian men". She made that comment out of her own mouth.
Now tell me, why would she turn right around and say something that negative about Nigerians. Don't you know that Oprah has to be very careful not to attack any group of people, business, industry, etc., or she can be held legally liable for those words. She and her producers are not stupid. They, even if Oprah herself wanted to make a horrible comment like that, would not allow it. Oprah is not so big in that her show cannot be cancelled if she breaks those rules by verbally debasing or attacking a select group of people.
Oprah is too wise for that. There are just as many, probably more, corrupt people living in America that there are in Nigeria. Why not get the "true" facts before you drag someone's name and reputation through the mud. How would you like that to happen to you. I would have NEVER posted the comment to get this discussion underway unless I had checked out those comments from the producers of the show--not some words written by someone else. You can be sued in America for slandering someone's name!

Some people are cruel, prejudice, and just negative due to the reputation of "some" Nigerians. Who cares about Oprah, I don't think an educated individual could did what she was said to have done. Who knows maybe she had fallen victim due to her own greed, and now using her status to drag Nigeria in dirt. I suspected she had a personal grudge against Nigeria for reasons not known, but that is her problem.

Do you guys honestly think that Oprah is losing sleep over the vituperations poured out on her by Nigerians on this board? Not that I am defending her or anything, but before alluding a quote to another person, you have to do some investigation, instead of relying on hearsays and all that. A prime example would be Tom Hilfiger and the nasty joke circulated on the board about his comments about blacks on Oprah show. Even after Oprah has gone publicly to announce that Hilfiger has never been a guest on her show, the same rumor is going on the internet.
Folks need to get busy instead of getting worked up over unsubstatantiated rumors!
