'All Nigerians Are Corrupt', Says Oprah Winfrey

uncontrolled capitalism is the biggest fraud in the history of mankind. any system that can produce a millionaire as rich as oprah in a country where people of the same citizenship are living in squalor (as we saw in new orleans) is a fraud.

shows how much you know. The USA is more socialised than Naija right now. It has socialised education, fire department, military, Healthcare (though not universal), works, transport, the list is almost endless. Naija is on the brink of unfettered capitalism. Companies set up shop, hire who they want and destroy our enviroment without regard to the regular citizens. They bribe our politicians and disregard the few laws we have because we do not enforce them. ALl African nations are like heaven for any multinational corporation to operate in. Now that you know this how is unfettered capitalism helping our citizens? Are you enjoying the fruits of your labor? Is the average American living with a myriad of socialized services less of than the average Nigerian who lives in a society where capitalism has gone wild?

Many people like to think that USA is capitalism gone wild. If capitalism went wild in Nigeria most of the population would become peasants overnight. The last time capitalism went truly wild in this country the USA there was a GREAT DEPRESSION that a socialist president called FDR had to fix by mobilizing the US government to provide numerous social services to propel the US economy forward (called the New Deal)

Capitalism run wild is part of the reason Nigeria has the most sought after export on the planet yet is a so called 3rd world Nation. Ghanians without oil are better of in Ghana than your average Nigerian in Nigeria. Aint that some sh*t

hi everyone,
i have taken my time to read through the whole treads and was surprised to notice quite lot of things.
1stly,i was really pissed at Oprah when i read the issue on punch newpaper "as a comment" from a guy in 9ja and then didn't investigate it.I instantly switch from SABC3 eachtime they air Oprah (4pm) and repeat it after 10pm news here in SA since i read the stuff last week.
I became furious with Oprah,whom i use to love and adore in a way until in recent times she has being becoming bit "lousy" about somethings she does In SA.i must say,her contribution to SA is great but i get fussy over this cos she told the world last yr (when Forest Whitaker affirmed himself being of Nigerian origin),that she's of "northern Liberia" origin.I hardly could take it since then why Oprah will take money and dump in SA and sing SA's glory everytime when Liberia really needs that break and help in rebuilding their nation.
I believe Mandela has something to do with that anyway cos he sell SA anyhow and i believe Oprah has being told to do that.I would have prefer Oprah helping Liberia really,SA does not really deserve all that she gives it cos they are okay and rich here, even though they are dame corrupt,i bet you yrs back when i got here,i use to think "Nigeria has the only corrupt ppl on the Continent" as said but dame , SA is dame corrupt,talk of home affairs,POLICE and Jackie Selebi(the SA police chief),SA ministers are going to be the richest ppl in SA soon,getting drivers licence etc, i later discovered,the worst 9ja basshers are 9ja ppl themselves, SA keeps this under wraps like hell and ppl don't know.
i have never heard of this anywhere.here they call 9ja names because they are right, they call us drug peddlers and though the Israeli Mafias here and 9ja maffias controll that and mind you as said b4, Jackie Selebi is the big culprit cos they are being protected.They are 9ja guys and sorry to say, majority are "from the eastern side of my country" but well na "9ja" we all be cos Yorubas,Edos etc are well know to lie to women and use dem anyhow 2u.i am winning on y neighbour from Imo to stop his 419 stuffs here,my flatmate will always refuse to eat the guys food cos "na 419".
SO what am i saying now? Oprah didn't say that statement because i have researches at least based on the net and what has being said by ppl here.I do not in anyway like the way Oprah made sure 9jas name was well dealt with their but well i know where its coming from cos , she visits here well and its a common thing to hear SA top dogs say ,Sa ppl are not the criminals(gun totting criminals,rapists etc) but Nigerians,Zimbabweans and mozambiqueans etc
Sa lives in that denial cos i was mugged last year at gun point by 2 dudes in parktown joburg (funny enough 7pm and ppl no just help us,they were passing and looking,such a terrible society),those dudes were speaking Zulu language.so aw come zim dudes ,9jas and Mozambican cos now the reputation for d biggest criminal in SA goes to a Mozambican (dat escaped from Pretoria maximum jail by rubbing hiself with petroleum jelly and squeezed through the jail rods).
we need to change the way we see our country really and the fact is that am not corrupt and majority of 9ja ppl are not, our leaders are and its greed,sometimes past ,we say Ibori and him boys grooving in Sandton here in Joburg.
i believe as we climb "slowly" into correcting the ills of 9ja,we will get out of it,at least we are dealling with some corrupt ppl now, here Government will cover it up and ppl will not talk.the police chief told the world that ,Anglotti the Israeli drug lord that was just a "coffee friend",they play and drink coffee together and so he wont resign.He wasn't killed,so pls lets just rebuild our society and surely and surprisingly my black SA friends are the worst critics here but the whites and maybe coloureds will tell u a number of 9jas dey know in joburg,capetown,Durban etc that are doing great for SA.
For all this i wish we stop bashing ourselves cos i can tell you that out leaders, IBB,Obj etc didn't drop from heaven,they came from Ota,Minna etc and so when we get there(Aso rock etc) ,we may do thesame.Obj was a great critic of abacha abi, what did  he do towards the end of his tenure?
pls pls and pls we need a change and the mobbing of Oprah is not wort it,to be very objective ,she  didn't say such(if you research), even though am no more watching her shows. i believe,she needs to take her money to where they are in "dire need of it".she now publicises her "good deeds" in Africa and i believe its becoming a "business stunt",to keep getting ppl emotionally attached to the OPRAH  brand.last summer near Mpumalanga(SA),several ppl that leaves in sharks were dying of cold and all,black dudes who won contracts were buy the "BEE cars" (BMW), BEE means black economic empowerment,while they were doing that with their money, we saw white women gather ther hard earned doe together and bought alot of blankets and building materials to  help those ppl and feed them constantly.I think we bl;acks need to do something to out "thought process".its a shame.I must tell you SA which happen to be a big name in Africa is slipping into that same thing that killed  Ghana,9ja etc after the post independence successes.you can watch Etv news every night and see the first 15 minutes of crime and i tell myself, we in 9ja are "too holy",absolute wickedness is rife here and corruption is rising fast,tribalism btw Zulus and Khozas,materialism.greed of the BEE usual suspects etc we must make sure this doesn't happen (though its happen fast now),we almost killed obj for wanting 3rd term even Mbeki condemned it then but today he's publicly declaring 3rd term aspiration.Africa needs help and fast i must say.cos now 9ja,Congo DRC etc is putting their houses in order and SA mustn't be allowed to slip back again and if you think it cant happen, check our neighbour, uncle bob (Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe).
As for Oprah,she should pls try work on her plans and reviews and help the ones she can "without allowing her left hand to know what the right hand is doing", it will be better appreciated because, she's just a hard working celebrity, who built an empire over the years,if she doesn't know, in 10 yrs time(2017) another Oprah would have risen and may she not regret not helping and identifying with "Africa" not SA and Mandela(she's sued to dis glamour thing),she needs to do it fast, we've seen what a the SO called white trash had done, Madonna went to Malawi(why not SA),Jolie gave birth just besides us here in Namibia etc, and guys dat have gone to Dafur etc,
lastly,I will like to still praise Oprah anyway for the one she had done in SA,though she said "its a promise to Mandela",i will like to ask how much our leaders had done for us? i will like to ask our "rich African tycoons" aw much they put into the society ?may be we should ask, Dangotes,Otedolas,Dantatas,iwuanyawus,Ibrus,Otudekos etc plenty plenty of them,in 9ja nd ask the SA's BEE dudes ;Sexwales,Ramaposas,Makozomas,Motsepes.Baloyis etc in SA, at least we could see what a fellow African from common Sudan is doing in the person of Mo Ibrahim, pls lets school ourselves and stop throwing stones, Oprah no be d wahala, she Will fade one day,bad press dey give us sef as terrible and insinsere it its at times, Blackmen generally needs a mind radicalization!
