How Much Did You Exchange The Dollar For Today?

For those of us that might be interested in the daily rate of the Naira against the Dollar , i feel it would be a good thing to have anyone with information both from the official bank rates and the black market to post the rates here .

The last rate i was told few days ago with regard to the black market was $1- 128 Naira, does anyone know today's rate , both from the official bank rates and the black market ?

I think i can say that for today , it hovers between $1-  128 and 128.5 naira .

Does anyone know what Black Market rate for the British £ is today please?

the gist is that naira will be settling for 120 agaisnt the dollar b/4 year end.it seems that some licenced burea operators are already buying at that price.
so if u aare running a dollar based domicilliar account,it is time to think twice.

The dollar rate seems to be falling drastically.  What's it at the moment?

31th October the 1USD was exchanged for #125.5 in the Black market and #124 by the CBN. However, we would see the Dollar falling to a very low say #120. As you may have observed, the Dollar falls around this period because of too much of it in circulation. Nigerians abroad are either coming home or sending money home.

For an Investor, You can buy the dollar say 2nd week of December and wait to sale say 1st week of Febuary 2008 - then the Dollar would be in high demand. This is a sure money(only that you must make your own exit point. dont be carried away by the highs of the Dollar. )Good Luck!

Nigerian currency stable

LAGOS (AFP) — The Nigerian naira traded at 121.88 to the dollar this week in the foreign exchange market, dealers said Thursday.
A total of 10 banks participated in the official market where the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) sold 6.5 million dollars, they said.
Against the euro and pound sterling, the naira stood at 175.65 and 251.23 respectively.
In open market trading, the Nigerian note was unchanged at 123.3 and 175.49 against the dollar and euro, while it dropped to 255 from 251.74 against the British pound.

The naira has been appreciating steadily against major foreign currencies since March last year when the country's central bank liberalised the foreign exchange market.
On October 24, the naira hit a five-year high against the dollar to close at 118.50 from 119.45 the previous day.
The last time the naira traded strongly against the dollar was in July 2002 when it exchanged for 117
