One could actually forcast if the naira will appreciate or depreciate against the dollar.
Follow crude oil prices for Asia, North America and Europe. If there is a rise in crude price, there will be a corresponding rise in the value of the naira and vice versa.
This works because crude is traded in US Dollars.

I think the rise in the value of the Naira is due to the infusion of Dollars by CBN . But i fear this is temporary cause if **osisi claim of no dollar in the bank is true, and hoarding has resumed, then black market price of $$ is going to rise again, forcing the Naira down. This fluctuation can be very fruitful for those in naija who are monitoring it very closely. |

Nigeria cannot continue to shore up the value of the naira with the little we have in our foreign reserve. Only the rich that want to move money out will benefit from the so called CBN intervention. The well connected brought $ back home to exchange at N189 and now they need to move the money out again. Only they will be able to buy at the official rate. A common man will never get to buy $ at the official rate. It is only a matter of time before the rate goes up again. There are so many things that can be done to help the naira. STOP this deception and let the naira find its level.
