d 1st time i got to south africa, i was in my cousin's house n i needed 2 shower. i was surprised when i c say na foam them dey use as sponge. I SWEAR 2 GOD, i wasnt com4table 4 1mth+ until someone finally brought betta sponge from naija. evn durin winta, i showad 2wice a day. how much more here in this DARK (NEPA) n HOT (2nd 2 HELL FYA) nation.

This oyinbo showers twice a day! I think the above replies just shows that some people have a long way to go in understanding people from other cultures (There is a wold outside Nigeria!!).

Maybe you should practice what you preach and think before you type, do you really know what you're commenting on? Do you have any experience/knowledge of EVERY SINGLE WHITE PERSON who walks this earth? If not, please refrain from placing ALL whites in the same basket. Isn't it said that just because you may find a few rotten apples, doesn't mean the whole crate is bad? I know some blacks who stink, but I wouldn't say that 'blacks stink'. The colour of our skin does not determine how we smell, it's all based on personal cleanliness. I'm white and I bath everyday. |

2cantango  If I knew how to quote people you would notice that the statements at the beginning of my text are actually replies taken from the beginning of this thread. I found them offensive so I copied and pasted them to help enforce my view that people should not assume or jump to conclusions (You know just like you have done). I will be clearer in future (Can anybody explain the process of inserting quotes into the reply). I hope that clears thing's up and I am white as well and don't smell like a dog!!!!! |

hey FREE, your teacher is actually right, u don't need to bathe everyday, as long as u don't work in the fields or do construction work ar roll around in the grass like a kid, as long as u wash your delicates and brush your teeth, plus if u are going to be home all day, u don't need to waste your time, now when u start smelling your own armpit, u have gone too far, u need to jump in that shower. me i recommend every other day, scientist recommend twice a week for a normal human

even if you live on the island in lagos, still bathe constantly. have all the a/cs' from your house to your car to your school/office, bathe constantly. my grandfather is 89 and he bathed like every day of his life. nothing's wrong with the old man today and i still haven't noticed any body nutrient loss. like me, if i'm going to be home all day without doing anything tedious, then i won't bathe until 9/10pm. even if i don't sponge, i just love the comfort of feeling cool and smooth after a cold shower.

I have to say, being a white woman and happening upon this forum, I am totally offended by the statements I have read. How DARE you! I BATH DAILY as do most white people that I know and that you will encounter. Excuse me if saying something good about a cracker is difficult for you, BUT JUST TRY IT.
