wat I still don't get is the title of the movie. First there was G.I Jane which Demi did quite alright then those guys had to name another movie G.I Joe, why the stereotyping!!!!!!!!!! Huh

The dispute has been settled on Watchmen.

Fox get's a percentage of the sales including any sequels / spin off that will result from the movie.

This is a blow to WB.  .  .but am happy they have settled the case.  .  .so hopefully it will be released as scheduled Smiley

@iice, I've not heard of Ryan Phillippe since forever. And about the Watchmen saga. I could care less who came on top. I like Newline best and maybe Miramax for  their minimalist approachs. As long as Watchmen comes out, I'm good. What's up, cara?

@Ex, How's it going down there? You keeping the world misfits down below. Don't get pissed o. You know it'll be bad for the rest of us. Hehehe. Bu tseriously, how've you been? We miss you down here. At least I do.

@Asada, G.I.Joe is already a household name like tin soldier. G.I.Jane was a caricature of sorts in the first place. So, there's a, you know what? Forget it!

Hiya Gamine! I'll soon do what I do when I'm in a romantic mood.

Spikyn! Spikyn! Spikyn!

Darn, dude. I missed ya!

I'll see Watchmen soon but I don't think it's going to be comparable to TDK. X-Men maybe, but certainly not TDK.

Guy, spill, where've you been?

hey Vesc, how you? I've been alive you? I've been growing old and lazy o! Nothing to account for the time away. What's new with you?

DR, I really can't say without doing the spoiler thing, but one thing I can say is that it's truly the graphic novel brought to life as the guy replicated almost all the iconic scenes faithfully. That said, I can see why it's not #1 anymore.

Transporter 3. I've ignored that fil since and I know trailers show the best parts of a movie but I admit I'm a lil curious. What's y'all think?

Spikyn, come back here and tell me what you thought of the oscars. Fair? Ridicuous? usual? Whatever?

I must admit that I have yet to see Transporter 3 though I've seen and liked the first two quite a bit.

On the Oscars, my views have not changed since the nominations were announced. It was a missed opportunity up till then.  I have the ceremony but I've yet to watch it. As for the ceremony itself I wasn't in the least bit surprised, not because I knew the results but because I'd explained to a friend the paths I saw the Oscars having to take. It was either they had a fraudulent ceremony and live down another blunderfest ala Saving Private Ryan v Shakespeare in Love or they do a LoTR, save face and hope for the best which they did by showering everything on Slumdog Millionaire. Not that it was undeserving but then why were all the others; Frost/Nixon and Doubt in particular even nominated at all when the simple inclusion of WALL-E and TDK would have spiced up proceedings no matter the results. It would have shown that the Academy could think outside genres and it would be mirror what happens at the Grammys where nominations are used as a reward system.

Unbelievably echoed my thoughts. And some. I especially like the comparison with the Grammys rewarding system. Cara, weren't you complaining about Coldplay the other time? Hehe, it's all politics jare. I wish they'd incoporate people's choice awards or something where people can do their own ratings rather than those pompous smug 'deep' peeps at the academy.

Hmmmm. For Grammys sha I really didn't expect a Coldplay sweep anyway but it's nice to know they had a chance. I guess their problem is that U2 existed and still exists.

Finally saw Slumdog Millionaire yesterday. Nice. That makes 3 Danny Boyle films that have risen to the top of my estimations.

vesc, you're into Katt Williams? Did you get the oldies you wanted? Did you go through the Marvel/DC skits?

Be you.

« #857 on: March 26, 2009, 01:34 PM »

Hey, man. Not really into Katt Williams. But, then, I'm not really into most of these 'funny people'. As I said somewhere, I hate in-your-face comedy. Most times.

Unfortunately, I only got to see what I was missing as per oldies. Never had the resources to download anything from mininova as you suggested. Don't have steady connection in any concievable way. The Marvel/DC skits were awesome while it held my interesat which waned after a while. But you do a great job in pointing a dude in the right direction. I'm just too busy nowadays. Can't laze around like before. Only thing I'm doing now is watching Naruto from the beginning to the end. almost 300 episodes. I'm almost finished!

Holla back!

Hola.

Hi iice, been a while.

Hmmmm. vesc we do have to sort your oldies problem, are you in nigeria now or elsewhere? I second your comedy tastes though for me that'd depend on who's delivering the comedy. Naruto's like really nice abi?

I dey naija. How do you figure sorting out the problem. Seems like an impasse to me. Anyways, Naruto's good. Like most anime but you just have to endure the beginnings so youcan get attached to the characters. And also, you've gotta have a fair balance between your adult mind and your kiddy one. Where are you now?

On the Naruto thing, I'll pass for now but maybe when I've a little more time,
