Football Bets Of The Week
« on: August 03, 2007, 04:07 PM »

If you're like me and you love betting on football, you
will be looking ahead at the begining of the new season
next week.

I've picked a few bets for the week. I'll accumulate them

Arsenal v Fulham on 11/08/2007 Arsenal to win @ 3/7

Chelsea v Birmingham on 11/08/2007 Chelsea to win @ 1/7

Man Utd v Reading on 11/08/2007 Man Utd to win @  1/5

Aston Villa v Liverpool on 11/08/2007 Liverpool to win @  10/11

Everton v Wigan on 11/08/2007 Everton to win @  4/7

Derby v Portsmouth on 11/08/2007 Portsmouth to win @  11/8

£1 on it will bring in £12.70 at William Hill

I'll have £10 on it for a £127 return.

Who's got any tip for me?

Akin

Portsmouth to beat derby at derby is tricky. It's their first premiership game in a long time
and they are at home.

The atmosphere at pride park will be so terific. Reminds me of Reading at home to Middlesborough day one of last season.

Generally, your accumulator is alright.

Actually, all week one games are always difficult
to bet on because most of the teams don't get
into their strides early enough.

But I just have to jump into it. I've waited long
enough.

OlowoTee,

You got it all wrong. Those were not the predicted
scolelines. Those were the prices per match.

If I say Liverpool to win @ 10/11 it means with your
N11 you will win N10 (plus your initial N11) you will
get back N21.

You don't even have to predict the exact scoreline,
just the outcomes like Arsenal to beat Villa, Derby
to draw with Reading etc.

I had £10 on Man Utd to draw with Chelsea yesterday
at 21/10. I got bact £31. Grin (Penalties are not included)

I can give a little tutorial here about how it's done
if you're interested.

You have a point. That might end in a draw. Coral offers
11/5 for a draw.

If I change it to a draw then my £10 will bring in £249

That is tempting  Wink

Maybe I'll do one for a draw and one for a Liverpool
win.

But like I mentioned earlier, it is still the first week
so it is difficult to say. But I've been bored all through
the break and I can't wait to jum in.

I don't mind losing part of the £31 I won at Man Utd
Chelsea draw yesterday.  Grin

Betting on football is run the same way irrespective
of the league.

I bet on the premiership most times because that
is the league I watch a lot.

I sometimes bet on other european leagues as
well if I get good prices.

I've got a short tutorial for those that
are interested in learning how to bet on
football.

Here we go,

Bettting on football matches is all about
staking bets against bookmakers. It is
different from betting against one another.

The bookmaker sets the price of a particular
football match and you decide to place a
bet.

The harder the match prediction is, the
higher the potentials of money returns.

For example, if you say Derby County will
beat Manchester United at Old Trafford then
the money returns will be high and vice
versa.

The monetary returns is calculated by
odds.

So if the odds of say Arsenal to beat
Chelsea is 6 to 4 (6/4) it mean that if
you bet with N4 or $4 or £4, you will
win N6 or $6 or £6.

You will also get the amount you bet
with so you take back N10 or $10 or
£10.

Different bookmakers set differnt prices
that suit them. It's your duty to pick
the best price.

I love using William Hill. They give good
prices. It's FREE to join.

http://www.willhill.com/iibs/EN/sportsbook.asp?aff=a46791O

I use Coral as well. Their website is
easy to navigate. Get a FREE account
there.

http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(992)a(1406207)g(993855)

I also use Paddy Power. You can use the
link below to register for FREE!

http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(23656)a(1406207)g(11380431)

All you need to get started with is to
open a FREE acount. You can then begin
to fund your account.

I can help you fund it.

I'm only interested in the football betting
there so I just ignore the horse racing and
others.

Note that you can also bet on other match
outcomes as well.

Outcomes like,

- Exact Scoreline
- First Player To Score
- Accumulation of matches

And lots more.

You will always get the latest odds on the
bookmaker's website.

Happy betting.

I believe US is not in the list of countries allowed to place bets probably because there is a US policy against online gambling (mind you i said gambling like in poker rooms and all). This is mostly to reduce online money laundering. It could have extended to all aspects of online bettings as well,  I do not know for sure though

While compiling my bets for this weekend, I decided to put some money on the top scorer's award. I had money on Drogba last season and it was good for me. Look at the current prices for this season.

D.Drogba   4/1

C.Ronaldo   8/1

W.Rooney   8/1

D.Berbatov   12/1

R.Van Persie   12/1

B.McCarthy   14/1

M.Owen   14/1

F.Torres   16/1

A.Shevchenko   18/1

C.Tevez    20/1

D.Bent   20/1

E.Da Silva   20/1

F.Lampard   20/1

What do you guys think? You know the prices will change as the season progresses so this is the time to lock the prices.

Jayceesh,

I bet you are right. William Hill have a casino/poker section on their site and I bet when the US banned online casino's.
William Hill just played it safe and blocked all US accounts.

It is a shame really because most online poker players were americans, now the tables are hardly full since the ban.

The US are really funny when it comes to onlime gambling and it is only becuase they cannot tax it like the real casinos.

Anyway this week I will try and do an accumulator of like 5 matches.

One will tend to go for Drogba at 4/1 at Coral. But
the business for me is Tevez at 20/1. That's a
massive price.

I'll have a fiver on it.

I'll coplile my final bets for the weekend tomorrow.
