This is insanity. These are animals. That is why they are backward in everything. How did we get to be in the same country as them? I wish they could carve out a country for them - Sharia country. We obviously don't belong together.
They are like robots. Just because muslims in other parts of the world are fighting over a 6-month old cartoon, they are fighting. It just doesn't make sense - someone in Denmark (who might not even be a christian) drew a cartoon that offended you and you burn churches and hurt christians in nigeria.
Sorry to say this, but I'm beginning to think that these northern muslims are a LIABILITY to this country. They fight over any little religious provocation. We've got enough ethnic diversity to deal with in this country. If we're managing to stay together with over 250 tribes why are we having problems with a few religions? In Nigeria, most, if not all, the religious crises we've had are caused by muslims - in the north. I know there are some rational people among them, but they are not doing anything to stop this violence.
I think the northerners need to come and learn from the Yorubas. They live together in peace, and are more progressive. The government and police must put an end to this.

At least 16 people have been killed in northern Nigeria during protests by Muslims over the cartoons satirising the Prophet Muhammad. Most of the deaths occurred in rioting in Maiduguri, capital of north-eastern Borno state. I bet you the 16 victims of the senseless riots are Igbo traders. Seriously it's time we Igbos start protecting our interests from those ANIMALS from the north. When is all this nonsense going to end. We cry for peace and one united Nigeria, but our people are killed every day for no reason. People please point to me where this peace resides, I don't see it.
I'm stationed in Kuwait protecting American interests in the Middle East, and every time I hear news like these from Nigeria, God forgive me but I wish I could just drop a NUKE on these people and just sent them all to hell.I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the rest of the world a great favor. I'm so mad at the whole thing, I can't even express myself.

Cushman, I agree with you that GL's comparison of the muslim cartoon rioters to animals is not appropriate. Her analogy blatantly insults the superior intelligence of animals by equating them with the brain-dead hordes currently murdering the innocent in northern Nigeria over NOTHING.

Must Nigeria take the lead over bad things,I was watching TV and saw the educated so call muslims students association making a protest the day before to the Government House in Lagos,this was what startd this whole thing,why can't we just face the problem,infact a muslim cleric is offering $1,000,000.00 to whosoever finds and kill the Cartoonist,I believe the mad animals should go and get visas to Denmark and fight there instead of sending people to early graves and bringing sorrows to so many homes,I pray it doesn't get to Lagos because they are in for big time yawa

Cushman, you aim for intelligent debate despite the harsh tone of some respondents here, so may I respectfully ask you in your capacity as an ambassador of sorts for the Islamic faith here at Nairaland, whether you personally would take to the streets in protest of an irreverent cartoon printed on the pages of an obscure newspaper in a far-away land ?
If your answer is affirmative, would you also be prepared to burn churches and physically attack non-muslims in your area if you came accross them during such a street protest ?

Thank you very much jakumo. Like i said, i pity and feel for the family and those affected in the riots. But then, making cartoons of the holy prophet (P.B.U.H) is a blasphemy. Though people see the cartoon as nothing, the muslims reacted the way they did because of their love, respect and dedication for the Holy prophet. I'm still going to answer your question shortly.
