Really the issue is highly subjective. And everyone seems to be right in this matter.
The G.O. is right to make his own laws to guide the flock in a manner that seems best to him in leading them to the kingdom.
The ladies are also right in expressing their freedom to dress in a manner that seems best to them. It is a free world even the armed robbers and hostage takers thinks they are right. But there will always be laws to guide us. Take or leave it.

One finds every screwed situation in this country, i heard that Nigerian female lawyers are not allowed to wear trousers! Any1 that tries to take away my pants will be castrated, decapitated and emasculated  . How can Adeboye say ladies shouldnt wear trousers? I have nothing to say about the MOG yet. |

what if i wear a bright red cleavage revealing, boobs bursting out shirt with a high thigh shinny black leather skirt and a knee length boots .my hair covered in turban like scaf to RCCG tomorrow being sunday. i hope G.O and all hes supporters of the ban will take me to the front sit. afterall ive complied with the rule of no trousers to church be it decent or not.
Word to be preached to those pple is mind renewal not imposing bans on trousers that cut across decent pant suits, comfoetable jeans etc, i work in an engineering industry imagine my appearing in a long or short even moderate skirt and headed to offshore rig, i did be a security risk to all on board.
point is, if he say i cant wear to church, should as well give the world or least the christians conviction not to wear it else where.

Anyone saying nonsense about a true Man of God does not know him and does not know God.
I was blessed to have worked as a project secretary in his office and when I left to work as a production manager for Money Wise on DBN TV, he gave us his blessings. In fact, the church helped us to get a loan to produce the first episodes and supported us.
The kind of skirts and pants Nigerian women wear to church can make pagans look like saints.
I went to one RCCG vigil in Ikeja G.R.A, Lagos, and one of the ladies in tights, was doing touch your toe exercise right infront of me with her booty lifted up at my face!
But some skirts are even worse than some hot pants!
Body hugging dresses should also be banned!
I sat in church one fine day and the younger single ladies were doing fashion parade to and fro to attract my attention.
I only shook my skin head, because they were fortunate God has given me the grace to control my passions. Otherwise, I would taken them for the jolly ride they were asking for.
Ladies should be decent and modest in public appearance.
You can go naked in your house, that is your business.

so you are one of the guys who come to church to check out the ladies- that's why they are gyrating everywhere when they see you. You must be sending out strong signals to like minded people as yourself. ie girls who go to church to hook a guy. Because I don't see why someone would be shaking her booty in your face, if she hadnt caught you checking out her out.
see how all the women are now under a blanket ban, thanks to guys like you, and the girls fishing for them ( ie if the story is true of course).

Infact sef, to deal with a problem, one goes to the root of that problem - otherwise situation will get outa hand and they will ban everything, including our skins! >> If wearing trousers provokes the animalistic instincts in men, that is a test of their faith and maturity >> If wearing skirts also make some people kolo, ban that as well as leave notin under the skirt >> If everything a woman wears are to be "banned" as the solution to the whole saga, then ban the eyes of men as well - and nobody will see anything to complain about! (remember the sermon on plucking your eyes - Matt. 5:29?) People, let's not take this issue and over-react unnecessarily. What RCCG members should help us do is either to confirm that PM News reported exactly what the G.O. said; or his words were taken out of context to help the softsell magazine. In anywise, for those who are doing touch your toe exercises, perhaps after banning that, we should also pass a recommendation to ban those who stand in front of them to look at the - - -!  . . . Or, no. . . we should also seek to recommend the Muslim veil for the women as well.  |

Nope. I respect your views; but I don't think that is a better alternative. Women are beautiful. I teased once that the reason why we have the feminine word of 'prophet' as 'prophet ess' is because the "- ess" should help us realize that women are the essentially suitable sustainers to men. No question about that! Now, if these "ESS" are put under the veil like masquerades, how would men be able to find their "essential" complements? We are simply beautiful - we should preserve our beauty in a more godly manner. The best help we can receive towards that end is NOT banning what makes men uncomfortable; but sharing the conviction that presents the divinely "essential" purpose as to WHY women have been called by God to complement the men folks! "Real" women know how to dress (and so do real men). Such "real" women and men do not confuse their dress-sense (Deut. 22:5) - and the sooner we realize this, the better we would see that banning what's on our bodies does not solve the problem of a man's wandering eyes! |

God created women to be loved and not abused.
So, women are best, decent and modest.
If women expose all, then how can men respect them?
When a woman is covered, the more inquisitive and imaginative you are to explore and discover her.

I don't understand the logic behind this. Once again we always seem to focus on the wrong things. It's about trying to change peoples' minds. Banning ladies wearing trousers wouldn't stop any lady being the holiest on Sunday and being far from a saint during the week. Such ladies would just find more creative stlyes to apply when wearing dressing in other attires and wear them to church!

The bible says touch not my annointed and do my prophet no harm. Everyone is already saying all sorts. The ban is for church workers not congregation members. It beats me the way people just see a thread don't investigate and start saying all sorts of rubbish. GO OUT AND GET FACTS BEFORE YOU START CRUCIFYING. When i first saw this thread i was wondering if this was possible. I asked my mum who is a worker in a well known RCCG church here in lagos and she told me that it is for WORKERS ONLY not for members of the congregation i repeat for WORKERS ONLY. If u want to be a worker in RCCG then throw away your trousers it is not by force to be a worker.

Actually, this thread has generated much discussion. i feel for the gittery ones, particularly ladies who're not willing to give up certain items in their wardrobes.
but i'd just say that the fact is that the Church is marching on and cannot be hindered. once again, those who're not comfortable with this could look elsewhere. but let's not deceive ourselves, it was about time someone took a bold step about the indecent dressing around.
whether your own is trousers, tight blouses, etc. u know what is evil. STOP IT!! there was a time I thot it didn't matter if a man saw a lady's undies, provided not when she's wearing them, but now, u don't need any effort to know the colour of pants that the next lady beside u is wearing, even in CHurch!

There is a popular saying: "The Mind sees what it chose to see", I can look at a slurt with sexy outfit and see something else , this is not ordinary belief me, but it comes with days of training your mind.
I respect the reason for the rule, but I don't see the rule stopping anything , trust me, I can see an SS in one of those SS outfits and still choose to fantasise in my minds , you can only control spiritual things from the spiritual itself, mental from the mental itself, I don't see how physical things can help resolve spiritual ones.
Afterall, those things that manifest in the physical have correlations to things which have existed in the non-physical.
