Over the last few weeks, the Bar Beach tide has been on the high side and has over-flowed its banks on a number of occasions, to no serious magnitude however. . . . but in the wee hours of today, the waters of the Atlantic broke its banks and flooded parts of the Ahmadu Bello road, extending from Bar Beach bus-stop to around the Ocean View junction.
That part of V.I is absolutely litered with filth carried by the flowing waters while some part of the road is still covered with salt water. . . however, no major loss of life or property has been reported but almost all the shanty tents that dot the beach landscape where swept off their roots by the tidal waves. As at the time of post, occupants were still trying to clear out puddles of water and filth in their abodes.
