This is not an avenue to discuss the mystery of love but criteria adopted in choosing a partner. You obviously forget you don't reap before you sow. It should be the other way.
My mirror is very much active and shinning.
I am not chastising you.
I would be violating my own rule if I follow the common run of people. Dare to be difference and stake your life on your creed.
Saying, I would NOT MARRY FOR LOVE is like saying I WOULD NOT WORK FOR MONEY! Please ponder on the statements and you would get the logic behind my statement.
Now, the criteria for choosing a partner can NEVER have include love. You meet someone for the first time and you started looking for LOVE, hoping both of you can click. That is silly. What you look for is not love but sign of compatibility, acceptability. You search for the other person strength and weakness. The first thing that draw people is no doubt APPEARANCE, call it beauty, handsome, whatever. It is obviously not love. Love come into the picture after your CRITERIA had been met not BEFORE. That is part of my point.
Marriage is build upon the the foundation of TRUST, and LOVE is just a PILLAR that hold the roof. When the foundation crumble, (that is trust), no matter how strong is the love, it would eventually collapse. However, when love fails in marriage but trust remains, there is hope of rebuilding. The two goes together to make a happy home.
A home without TRUST and LOVE would never survive. A home with trust but no love had been found to survived and still does! At least my research confirmed people can be married without loving one another. You can marry him because of money. Nobody would marry you if they don't trust you! Can you give your key to a lady you love but don't trust?
A home WITH LOVE but NO TRUST is like a mansion with pillar without foundation. It would crumble however hard you try to keep it unless the foundation is restored.

Sure, there is always an exception to everthing. That is why the mighty God made the paradise and hell. We have the right to choose.
When someone look for signs of love in a stranger, he may find lust. Love at first sight exist. But more however, it is lust at first sight. I have read many of you here. So, I found no other name for what you are describing but LOVE at FIRST SIGHT. I am sure everybody has an idea of what love at first sight implies.

What make you think so Ariblaze? Because I didn't believe in love at first sight? Or because, I refused to belive love, as currently defined on nairaland, is sacred?
And why bring grand ma into this? She had played her grandmotherly role, let her enjoy the fruit of her labour. Abi I no talk well iice?

Iiiiiiiiiicccceeee! Please come settle this matter!
How many grand kids do you have? Let this overtly intelligent guy know so he can learn a little decorum.
O.y.o. Means On Your Own.
I am glad you didn't believe in love at first sight. It means you are not a potential candidate of Heart break. I love that.

That is a fair judgement. He really take after you-unrelenting, pesistent. You can see him chasing me all over the threads trying to avenge the same wahala I gave you while researching your creed.
I just have to warn him my mirror can hurt his eyes if he look toooo much.

@olanajim my good sir, i beg to differ i think it is you who is in danger of getting hurt with respect to your mirrors i would just be striking up different poses and really getting my groove on , thats is the worst your 'mirrors' can do @granma just checking

Just warn him to focus on the criteria. Yot don't need nobody to ravenge for you. Do you?
Come to think of it, he is a wonderful guy. If I were a lady, and married, I would divorce my bobo and marry him. Though with conditions. Fortunately, I am a man. I don't need him! All I need now is for him to make naija great. Together, we can make it happen.
