ok, well from the Igbo I know, "iri ji" is "to eat yam" . . . . "nri ji" literally is "the food yam" or simply "yam".

Whatever your title is, to get to your post above. . which "community" are you talking about? And I don't understand what the bolded is supposed to mean. Ok, I'll let someone else answer you since I don't know bout them "ceremonies".
