I was working on a system and it suddenly went off and restarted by itself. It however got stuck at Verifying DMI pool data. I've restarted it several times but it still hangs at that same point. I've checked the hard disk and even removed the cd-rom i just added but its still the same.What can I do?

seun thanks,i actually installed a new cd-rom but i have disconnected it and its still the same thing. i also removed the hard disk(it was still connected, i just took it ou of the casing) and the verifying dmi pool data was successful but it hanged again.i have put the hard disk back inside but its hanging on verifying dmi pool again. i don't want to format because i don't have a backup yet.
