God Of War was very very OVER solid. But the game was too rough. It isn't as matured as MGS.
Great game though but not better.

GOW is the best adventure games game no doubt about it but for final fantasy that game sucks! we call it hit-me-I-hit-you and for hitman I love that game especially silent assasins and blood money up agent 47. But the best mission is still MGS snake Eater if you have a PSP go and try MGS: portable ops will see what I talking about many thank to Hideo Kojima's team and Konami

Any one played Psi Ops, completely off the hook. A metal gear Killer. though it lacks a good story. the gameplay is really good.
A bit similar to mgs, but the main character's got some cool moves like mind control,pyrotechnic,telekinesis, etc.

what is a mission game?
please explain so i know which games qualify.
and what is the hype about metal gear? I played the original on NES and it was dry. metal gear 2 on msx was also dry. MGS1 was excellent, I loved it! But didnt get far. MGS2 started amazing but got rubbish later. MGS3 - i havent played it. The intro was toooooo long when someone tried to show it to me. Game intros have a way of getting dry. Finally I own MGS portable ops on psp and to be honest it was a colossal waste of my time. I dedicated a week to it, determined to love it like all the websites giving it 90% scores and above, but eventually just gave up on it. When i was told that mgs3 was similar i just abandoned the whole thing. So back to my question:
what exactly is so great about metal gear?! If someone told me maybe i can finally justify my purchasing MGS portable ops. Ive tried so hard to love it and it just keeps getting worse every time i play. I also have syphon filter-dark mirror which is a million times better, but scores about the same (around 90%) and has the same setting (in fact the first syphon filter was a mgs clone)
so someone please tell me what the noise is all about.

what exactly is so great about metal gear?!
Well to tell the truth nothing men,u get tried of it,i will give it just an ok as i did before,bcus the only tin that keeps me going when i play it is to see what will happen next,but to say i feel the game will be a big lie,MGS1 was the GAME but don't no what they are tring to do wit the others.
if u talk about mession games well i will say its d same tin as adventure or quest, SOUL REAVER is a game i can play anytime and day its fantastic, and GOD OF WAR2 came and made my day its d bum, RESIDENT EVIL is another classic but i don't no what happened with part 3 its just crap.
BOUNCER is a nice one,and has anybody play FEAR EFFECT PS1 that was a nice game. SILENT HILL is ok.
what nice games do u have on ps2 if u have any we cud sawp or sum tin,buzz moi

portable ops had a boring hackneyed cheesy story told with still images. maybe thats y its crap
ill try to get ps1 mgs1 and see how far.

Metal Gear is for a Matured Mind. Your not puttin yourself in that game that's y u don't like it. Dis is a game that has recieved awards. Just sit down wit that game oneday n u'l like it.

MGS may be many things, but one thing it definitely *isnt* is for a matured mind.
the story is told in a gritty setting but with gross oversimplification of issues that characterises novellas for young adults, like tom clancy's op center or shonen jump mangas like ghost in the shell.
the story is directed at growing boys, 14-17 year olds.
If you want a story told in a matured tone, try the tom clancy games, like splinter cell. Unfortunately the stories are quite boring, almost like watching CNN, but thats what u get when u ask for 'matured'
*if* I will ever like mgs it will have to be the gameplay that gets me, because the story definitely isn't there for me.
MGS1 was really interesting gameplay-wise, but portable ops has *so* many gameplay problems that i wonder if the high scores are not just kojima-worship.
