Hausa & Igbo A Compatible Match?
« on: August 19, 2007, 11:31 PM »

Can it really work between an hausa man and igbo girl? Huh
I just needto hear from any young people who have had experience of this type of inter-ethnic relationship.
I am an educated and women who lives abroad, I feel the family of the man I care deeply about have discouraged his interest in me as I am not muslim nor a hausa. Is there any point in hoping for a miracle?

I wouldn't mind dating (Or marrying) an hausa man if that's what God wants for me . . .  I think they are cool people . . . As for parents, my parents don't have tribal issues. . . I could bring someone from Venus home for all they care - If it's what's right for me, they are cool with it.  Cool

What does aboki bana sonka mean? Youngdices man.

I hoped that we could get to know each other but he may feel its hopeless. Also, I didn't realise how I felt until I left nigeria at christmas so its all still very innocent.
Naijacutie: have you dated a hausa?

Well the answer to my own question is no I guess for me. I asked the guy if he has another girlfriend and he dodged the question and said he has lots of girlfriends, naive me huh. I feel so foolish. He was like, when we met, "I'll take you to the North and marry you" Well i guess not anymore. London to owerri is a distance and we have incompatible lives, jobs, tribes etc, bang goes my dream of being a Naija bride. i won't be so silly ever again.

If you truly loved him and he truly loved you, then tribe or jobs wouldn't matter. You guys would find a way to work round it. What matters most, is having one mind with your partner & behaving with utmost sincerity.

Yeah, London to Owerri is a distance but there are inter-continental flights. Like I said before, it all depends on both of you and what you really feel for each other, in deed and in truth. 'Nuff said.

Laudate says "If you truly loved him and he truly loved you, then tribe or jobs wouldn't matter. "

You are right about that and that's how I feel. I think its just so hard to be sure over the telephone.
You have to look in to someone's eyes to know how they feel.  Maybe if he comes over, as he plans to do,
one can then see how we can work it out. Fate and time will tell.

Most Hausa girls are hard to find except in the north. You hardly spot them out here in the East except for the ones that cover their head with veil. But wait I have a question, Its is an offense to ask an Hausa girl out?I mean the one wearing a veil. I will not be so comfortable except when she does not have that scarve  on.my opinion anyway.
