Well, its a shame that Venus lost to Henin, but we really have to give it to Henin.Much as I don't like her,she is the best right now,in female tennis, especially when u consider d mix of talents and age.Thats why she is world number 1.I will be surprised if Kutzestnova beats her in the finals, come Sat.

As for the men's tennis,I am hoping Federer survives Nikolay Davedenko and goes on to win the tournament. He has my full support, not only because he is easily the most talented player in the circuit, but because I want him to be the GOAT(Greatest of all times player in tennis). He is so close to beating Sampras' record. As soon as he beats that record I will switch my support to Djokovic or Nadal, depending on who's more impressive at that time.

Judging from the "mimmicking" show Djokovic put up while playing such a serious match against Moya,I think he's got the tennis showmanship in him. This is good for the sport and will take him places. The lad is simply good.I see him taking over from Federer as world number 1. Nadal is likely to fizzle out fast due to injuries. His game is too much of power play for him to stay 100% fit for too long.He is likely to burn out soon or later.Thats my opinion.

I don't think Nadal's game is as deficient as before

His serve especially has improved and unlike the other players on the circuit

he generates so much spin on the ball that he has greater margin for error that

will outlive any potential physical depreciation.

As per Federer, I really do think that the dearth of challengers to his dominace has

been very poor

When Sampras was aroun you had the likes of Edberg, of course Agassi, Jim Courier

etc. All well rounded players

But that is no slight to Federer, you can only play the competition that is in front of you.

rankly I think Agassi is better than both cause regardless of the surface, he could always control the rallies

Anyway that's my opinion/

What has race got to do with this? The more skillful, the better.

Henin is a more skillful player than the rest, likewise Federer.

The match between Djokovic and Ferrer is underway.

Ferrer was leading 4 - 2 courtesy of an early break in the second game. Djoko has bounced back and it's now 4-4.

That 'witch' is damn too good!!!

Novak Djokovic beats David Ferrer 6-4 6-3 6-3 to reach his first grand slam final!

Djokovic will next face the winner of the match between three-time defending champion Roger Federer and fourth seed Nikolay Davydenko.

Federer takes the first set against Davydenko 7 - 5.  He was broken in the first game set but broke back in the sixth and eighth games, only to allow Davy break when he was serving at 5-4.

The second set is underway.

The match between Federer and Davydenko ended 7-5, 6-1, 7-5.  Roger books a date with the last man to beat him, Djokovic, in the final.

Justine Henin claimed her seventh grand slam title with a 6-1 6-3 victory over former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova at the US Open.

The Belgian world number one needed just one hour and 22 minutes to take the comprehensive win and move above Venus Williams to second in the list of active grand slam winners.

Federer leads 3rd set with 4-3.

I think he's the best player that ever held a racket to play TENNIS.
His attitude and countenance is top notch.
I am yet to see a sportsman with such expressionless and non-challant look.
He makes everything seem effortless and plays like he can't be bovvered.
