is this individual legal? If not why is he looking for a job on nairaland with a masters deg in chemical engineering? Such people have jobs before they even leave school. Something is fishy with ur story.

maybe the poland thing has some effect on her prospects, was the education in poland done in English?
Just wondering, if it wasn't in English, she may need to get her credentials vetted by an appropriate body in the US, so they can confirm the quality of the degree. In addition, she should register with the local AIChE (american institute of chemical engineers) branch and start making contacts, maybe lack of US referrals is affecting as well.

If her friends did the same thing, then she should talk to them and let her in on internal recruitment, it is always easier for you to get a job when you have friends on the inside to chip in a good word for you. Just recently a Russian Prof asked me about how good Nigerians were and showed me all the transcripts and application details of this Naija dude who wanted to do his PhD in chemistry, I did my best to paint a very good picture of the guy and I convinced him that this will be a good student, that good word will probably help him get the place.
So similarly in your friend's case, let her try to get a place with those companies her friends in similar situations got jobs in (if they also did chem eng that is), I assume they are doing their jobs competently and so the employer will not hesitate to employ a similar candidate where there are openings.
Your friend will get a place, it may just be taking longer than anticipated, let her not lose faith and keep on searching and applying.

I WONDER TOO, when i read the context of the post @poster there are various job sites, companies and pharmacy stores u can apply to, and am prolly sure with the status of ur education which u claimed (who knows it might not be true), u should be able to get a job within a twinkle of an eye

"if he is legal then finding a job with a masters degree shld be no problem at all. "
I beg to disagree. It is common for degree educated persons to take some time to find a job. When people make this kind of enquiry they do so because they need help and not the arrogance shown by some of us. If you can't help just ignore the post. Tell your friend to look at websites like monster, workopolis and to do google searches with their intended job description. Let her not despair, the rejection letters may come in thick and fast but she will certainly find somebody who believes in her.
