1. Mr A earns 1000 a month; unfailingly he gives 100 a month as "tithe" in/to "church"; he gives 50 a month as offering; he then gives up to 20 to other needy causes outside "church".


2. Mr B earns 1000 a month; he gives anything up to 90 in/to church every month, he then gives 110 to other needy causes outside the "church".


3. Mrs C is a seller of "provisions"; any time that she is going to buy stock, she buys 10% extra (e.g. instead of buying 100 cans of milk, she buys 110); she regularly takes the extra 10% to her local orphanage; she then gives about 5% of her net profits in/to "church".

AFAIK none of them is robbing God, unless any of them have oppressed people and crushed innocents in their business in order to make that dough. e.g. Mrs C could have sold at inflated prices just to make more dough.

None of the above. As long as one sees giving as some sort of tax, then it is nothing but giving under duress. Giving should be spontaneous and straight from the heart, out of love and compassion for life. Besides, it is impossible to rob the creator in any shape or form. We can only rob ourselves, but not the creator.

At least it is stimulating discussion on a controversial subject. I dont see this as a poll as much as a question that forces you to dig back to the bible.

No one is robbing anyone. It's merely and exchange of cash for services rendered e.g the customers come to be deluded and brainwashed with sunday-sunday sessions and the man of god recieves payment for his "work". Ceteris paribus! Nuff said!

Actually you intended to employ a logical deductive proof using Bible verses, no? Logic is a [i]sect [/i]of mathematics,  as are all math methods.

The point I'm making is that math is just a tool for measurement (here, polls) and evaluation (here, a comparisons of the ideas) and nothing more.

None of them. The money was not god's to start with.
The money given to the church could have been used to do better things.

The term "robbing God" came from the old practice of some Priests saving the BEST parts of Temple offerings/tithes for themselves and instead offering unbefitting goods on the altar unto the Lord.


Giving to Church in modern times and neglecting one's family for instance can't be giving can it? We have to give from the HEART to whomever we chose to give to and not restricted to a "Church" or building.

You are obviously living in denial, but I give glory to God that more and more of his children are being set free from the evil shackles of tithes which mere men have placed on innocent believers.
