Canadian Emigration , So Far So Long

Please can u guys tell why it is so long for my canadian emigration process is taking so a long time - over three years. I have kept checking the site daily but same status of in process for the past 1.5 years.

hmm how do u want to enter canada as, as a landed immigrant aka PR(Permanent Residence).?

@Hotstepper, yes i am planning to enter canada as a legal immgrant. I have also submitted my application since 3years ago.

 you should try contacting them by phone or email , maybe they havent got your reference number anymore , atleast they should tell you how far with your application

call them and talk to them nicely about how uve submitted ur application and want to know if they have received it or ask them how long the normal process is

go to the canadian web site and fill the form www.cic.gc.ca thats all u need .no agent .
but mind u ,it will be better if u use an immigration attorney in canada who will fight for ur case or follow up on ur file.
if u nee more info let me know

A lot has changed as regards Canadian Immi in the last 24 months as a result of which they have a large backlog of applications to treat. From the point of application to final approval to folks applying from Africa takes ~ 8 years now; even from UK, it takes about 4 years now. Diff strokes for diff folks, u would say.
