You are better off. Spending the money you would use at the school to purchase yourself a good Machine, Books and use the rest to pay rent on your place for a year., Sit down and study, study study and practise practise practise.

You can get great animation skills at aptech surulere center. its better than niit, and they kina have quality stuff out there. im studying sftware engineering at apapa branch.
in any case, you have to develop your sellf personally if youre to go far, as there is a lot to it than just mere animation. im quite good at Maya and poser. i learnt them myself. you can too

In the real world, talent counts more than 100's of certificates when it comes to getting the job. I think in Nigeria, there is this push for Certificate that instead of people actually spending more time to learn needed skills, they spend time cramming for certificate exams and at the end of the day have nothing else to offer the market but that. If you really want to start doing well in the market and open the flood gates for yourself. Spend more time practising and perfecting your skills. Create for yourself a portfolio and then you will not only learn most all you need to to take the certificate exam later on but also be better than many of those before you who spent the whole year just trying to pass certificate exams.

A couple of years ago, that happened to be the same problem here. Now, most companies hire people mainly for experience and skill than the amount of certificates they have to offer. I myself am one of them. My skills speak for themselves and I learnt them all by reading and practising what I read. I have not a single certificate but I get top contracts with big companies and from the much I have seen of Nigerian programming, I think more programmers should spend more time actually practising and learning programming /animation/graphic designing than actually spending more of there time studying for the exam.

I mean read blogs online and you will find 15 year olds, 18 year old programming wiz kids, no certificates  but they can teach you all you need to know about programming and animating even at that. Those sort are the ones organizations like the FBI and fortune 500 companies here recruit. Many people get hired first and then get the certificates on the job here than do get the job cause of some certificate they hold.

If I went in to hire a programmer or even an animator in this case, I would rather hire one that has a portfolio showing actual animations skills than one with certificates that claim that he is knowledgable but nothing else to show for this knowlegde but simple stick figure animation from textbook samples.

I totally agree with kobojunkie the real issue why Nigeria has never suceceded at anything but certificates!
Look if you want to be an animator, a 3d animator, go to places on the net like www.3dtotal.com, www.cgfocus.com, www.cgtalk.com. I would rather mail Brad Bird (director Incredibles) than pay my hard earned money to a firm that printed out help files to teach me. Animation is art not academics the more of it you practice the better you become. I have been doing that for the past 7 years and men it works.
