@Lady,
Listen, Sarah Palin's daughter being pregnant should not be taken as a bourn out to her or Republican campaign to get to the White-house. She must not keep mute and allow evil triumph just because her daughter is pregnant. The woman believe that her daughter’s pregnancy is one setback that must be turned into wisdom—as one more mysterious clue to America way of life that needs to be opened and explored to reach the next triumphant moment. Americans need to know that an end to abortion is an important missing piece of information about what they need to include in their vision for change. Obama is unfortunate for this chance to learn something so valuable. He’s going to fail and for those of us who think Obama being a black man is a blessing to Africans should better have a rethink. I listened to McCain’s debate and it was superb, and he’s more intelligent than Obama.
She's is holding everyone to a high standard she needs to be held to those standard too. They want the easy way out when they're faced with the problems but when others face it they show no mercy. She cut off fudning to help teen mothers. She told them to keep the babies, but that they will get no support for keeping the baby. That is the reason why people abort babies, because they can't afford to keep it. Her daughter is pregnant but she won't treat her daughter the same way she treats these other teen mothers. She is still under investigation for her role in the firing of the commissioner, more and more information is coming out to say that she is guilty. The unions have already sent out a statement that she is personal with her dealings. Not only that, but listening to them I realise how much they lie about the Obama issues, and about their issues. I am a struggling student and I am walking on a thin line to be counted as poor. That's right, a lot of middle class people are becoming poor, what do the poor people become? McCain talks about bi partisanship. Well Obama and the democrats agreed to offshore drilling as long as the oil compaines don't get tax cuts. McCain said no. Why? Because it doesn't provide tax cuts for the oil companies. He keeps stating that Obama wants to raise taxes, I think he's really delusional because Obama has been talking about cutting taxes for the longest time. But wait a minute look at the people he's talking to. He's talking to wealthy republicans, so ofcourse Obama wants to raise taxes for the rich and cut taxes for the poor and middle class. By the way, the census is that republicans are richer now than they were eight years ago, and everybody else is poor, hmm I wonder why? He's talking about reduction on dependence on oil? and he wants more drilling? he says that with the tax cuts the oil companies will research alternative energies. That was the plan eight years ago. bush laid out that plan, well eight years later we still haven't researched alternative energy, but they've been getting the tax cuts. and the CEOs have been getting raises I know because I've met a good number of them, they come to my business school. Not just that but he has voted against alternative energy EVERYTIME, and up until a few months ago he still had that view and was against oil drilling, but wait a minute he wants to win so he adopted the same ideas of Bush. He's saying he's not going to be like Bush, but watching him in March on Meet the press, this guy says that he is in support of Bush's policies, and then standing in front of the senate house stated that he's voted with Bush 90% of the time. People are loosing jobs left and right and I fell victim to that, thank God I just found another one. But it isn't enough to pay all my bills, so I have to cut back on a lot. Thanks to Bush I pay money out of pocket, and with this job, I can't finish paying the tuition I owe, because it doesn't pay enough. So when graduation comes by I won't be getting my diploma, until I work some more and finish paying, but here's the down side to that still, I can't get a job and keep it without my diploma. I may get it but I better produce it soon enough or else I am gone. He keeps talking about the lobbyists being gone from washington, yet his campaign is being run adn funded by lobbyists and big oil companies, at least $1.5million comes from the oil companies. McCain does not in anyway address the issues for me or my family or anyone I know. The only thing I may agree with him on is Pro-Life, and I don't even trust him on that, I also don't agree in the way they think they will stamp out abortion. Banning it won't stop it. His position is not even to ban it, but to allow the States to be the ones to make that decision. He wants to overturn Roe v. Wade which I would support, but finding out that McCain wants to get rid of equal pay for women, I don't trust that overturning Roe v. Wade is about abortion. Soon enough he will take away the rights for women to vote and the next thing you know slavery is legal again. The people that preach about this and hold everyone to a higher standard, can't even live up to that standard. Everyone is talking about how immoral Obama is because he thinks a woman should make the choice for herself, yet they skip the fact that McCain committed adultery twice on his ex wife, and even before divorcing her, made plans to marry Cindy. And them Cindy as rich as she is, still finds the need to steal from her company. When will we start asking this man to explain himself with his contradicting views. First he's with Bush and now that he realises that won't do him any good, he says he's not with Bush. But he still has the same policies as Bush. I am still waiting for him to show me that he is different from Bush. I have heard too many lies coming from his mouth. I thought maybe I will get the courage to vote for him until he picked that hypocrite of a lady. And the reason he picked her bothers me. Seriously does he think women are so stupid that they will vote for anything in a skirt. I have more reasons to vote for Obama than I do for McCain. Did I read correctly when you said that McCain is more intelligent than Obama? McCain that even with all his foreign relations experience and natioanl security experience didn't know that Iraq doesn't bother Pakistan and Afghanistan. That is experience? He couldn't get online to look it up? Wait that's right he already admitted he doesn't know how to operate a computer. How has he been handling things in his senate office? He reminds me of a Nigerian politician. I believe that Republicans try to stay mindful of the fact that whatever they focus on grows strongest and beneficial to the world and they do their best to breathe deeply and make sure they are focusing on what America and the world want - not what they don't want. Iraq war for a example is a project I support anytime but many people have continued to lash Bush for that war without getting the terrorist real message. After America is destroyed, Britain will follow and their plan to Islamize the whole world is their for all to see. We need someone who will continue from where Bush will stop until every terrorist group is found and eliminated. Let me brief you on the happenings in the US. Do you know that Osama Bin Laden owns a lot of land in the US as well as companies, and that they are helping the american economy? Do you know that they almost had Osama Bin Laden when they went to Afghanistan, but then shifted the focus immediately to Iraq and Saddam Hussein? Iraq and Afghanistan don't share a border, how did Osama end up in Iraq in one day? Where are the weapons of mass destruction that were never found? I am disapponited in you for your statement. Just because someone does evil does not mean that you have to do evil. So because Islam teaches violence we too should counter with violence, and do as they do? ebos I am sure you know better than that. I know it hurts and it is easy to hate islam and its followers for the atrocious acts, but that doesn't mean you become like them. You are supposed to go after those who bully you, not those who don't. I am pretty sure Osama has had enough time to recoup and launch another attack. I am still waiting for the weapons of mass destruction. The war has always been a mistake.

Today's Saint
Birth of Mary
The Church has celebrated Mary's birth since at least the sixth century. A September birth was chosen because the Eastern Church begins its Church year with September. The September 8 date helped determine the date for the feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8 (nine months earlier).
Scripture does not give an account of Mary's birth. However, the apocryphal Protoevangelium of James fills in the gap. This work has no historical value, but it does reflect the development of Christian piety. According to this account, Anna and Joachim are infertile but pray for a child. They receive the promise of a child that will advance God's plan of salvation for the world. Such a story (like many biblical counterparts) stresses the special presence of God in Mary's life from the beginning.
St. Augustine connects Mary's birth with Jesus' saving work. He tells the earth to rejoice and shine forth in the light of her birth. "She is the flower of the field from whom bloomed the precious lily of the valley. Through her birth the nature inherited from our first parents is changed." The opening prayer at Mass speaks of the birth of Mary's Son as the dawn of our salvation and asks for an increase of peace.
Quote
"Today the barren Anna claps her hands for joy, the earth radiates with light, kings sing their happiness, priests enjoy every blessing, the entire universe rejoices, for she who is queen and the Father's immaculate bride buds forth from the stem of Jesse" (adapted from Byzantine Daily Worship).

Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Reading 1 Mi 5:1-4a
The LORD says: You, Bethlehem-Ephrathah, too small to be among the clans of Judah, From you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel; Whose origin is from of old, from ancient times. (Therefore the Lord will give them up, until the time when she who is to give birth has borne, And the rest of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel.) He shall stand firm and shepherd his flock by the strength of the LORD, in the majestic name of the LORD, his God; And they shall remain, for now his greatness shall reach to the ends of the earth; he shall be peace.
or
Rom 8:28-30
Brothers and sisters: We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined he also called; and those he called he also justified; and those he justified he also glorified.
Responsorial Psalm Ps 13:6ab, 6c
R. (Isaiah 61:10) With delight I rejoice in the Lord. Though I trusted in your mercy, let my heart rejoice in your salvation. R. With delight I rejoice in the Lord. Let me sing of the LORD, “He has been good to me.” R. With delight I rejoice in the Lord.
Gospel Mt 1:1-16, 18-23 or 1:18-23
The Book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Abraham became the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers. Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram, Ram the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse, Jesse the father of David the king.
David became the father of Solomon, whose mother had been the wife of Uriah. Solomon became the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asaph. Asaph became the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, Joram the father of Uzziah. Uzziah became the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah. Hezekiah became the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amos, Amos the father of Josiah. Josiah became the father of Jechoniah and his brothers at the time of the Babylonian exile.
After the Babylonian exile, Jechoniah became the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel, Zerubbabel the father of Abiud. Abiud became the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor, Azor the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Achim, Achim the father of Eliud, Eliud the father of Eleazar. Eleazar became the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Christ.
Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,
which means “God is with us.”

Today's Saint
St. Peter Claver (1581-1654)
A native of Spain, young Jesuit Peter Claver left his homeland forever in 1610 to be a missionary in the colonies of the New World. He sailed into Cartagena (now in Colombia), a rich port city washed by the Caribbean. He was ordained there in 1615.
By this time the slave trade had been established in the Americas for nearly 100 years, and Cartagena was a chief center for it. Ten thousand slaves poured into the port each year after crossing the Atlantic from West Africa under conditions so foul and inhuman that an estimated one-third of the passengers died in transit. Although the practice of slave-trading was condemned by Pope Paul III and later labeled "supreme villainy" by Pius IX, it continued to flourish.
Peter Claver's predecessor, Jesuit Father Alfonso de Sandoval, had devoted himself to the service of the slaves for 40 years before Claver arrived to continue his work, declaring himself "the slave of the Negroes forever."
As soon as a slave ship entered the port, Peter Claver moved into its infested hold to minister to the ill-treated and miserable passengers. After the slaves were herded out of the ship like chained animals and shut up in nearby yards to be gazed at by the crowds, Claver plunged in among them with medicines, food, bread, brandy, lemons and tobacco. With the help of interpreters he gave basic instructions and assured his brothers and sisters of their human dignity and God's saving love. During the 40 years of his ministry, Claver instructed and baptized an estimated 300,000 slaves.
His apostolate extended beyond his care for slaves. He became a moral force, indeed, the apostle of Cartagena. He preached in the city square, gave missions to sailors and traders as well as country missions, during which he avoided, when possible, the hospitality of the planters and owners and lodged in the slave quarters instead.
After four years of sickness which forced the saint to remain inactive and largely neglected, he died on September 8, 1654. The city magistrates, who had previously frowned at his solicitude for the black outcasts, ordered that he should be buried at public expense and with great pomp.
He was canonized in 1888, and Pope Leo XIII declared him the worldwide patron of missionary work among black slaves.
Quote
Peter Claver understood that concrete service like the distributing of medicine, food or brandy to his black brothers and sisters could be as effective a communication of the word of God as mere verbal preaching. As Peter Claver often said, "We must speak to them with our hands before we try to speak to them with our lips."

Memorial of Saint Peter Claver, priest
Reading 1 1 Cor 6:1-11
Brothers and sisters: How can any one of you with a case against another dare to bring it to the unjust for judgment instead of to the holy ones? Do you not know that the holy ones will judge the world? If the world is to be judged by you, are you unqualified for the lowest law courts? Do you not know that we will judge angels? Then why not everyday matters? If, therefore, you have courts for everyday matters, do you seat as judges people of no standing in the Church? I say this to shame you. Can it be that there is not one among you wise enough to be able to settle a case between brothers? But rather brother goes to court against brother, and that before unbelievers?
Now indeed then it is, in any case, a failure on your part that you have lawsuits against one another. Why not rather put up with injustice? Why not rather let yourselves be cheated? Instead, you inflict injustice and cheat, and this to brothers. Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the Kingdom of God. That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Responsorial Psalm Ps 149:1b-2, 3-4, 5-6a and 9b
R. (see 4) The Lord takes delight in his people. Sing to the LORD a new song of praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in their maker, let the children of Zion rejoice in their king. R. The Lord takes delight in his people. Let them praise his name in the festive dance, let them sing praise to him with timbrel and harp. For the LORD loves his people, and he adorns the lowly with victory. R. The Lord takes delight in his people. Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their couches; Let the high praises of God be in their throats. This is the glory of all his faithful. Alleluia. R. The Lord takes delight in his people.
Gospel Lk 6:12-19
Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God. When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called a Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
And he came down with them and stood on a stretch of level ground. A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured. Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.

So my best bet is to find another job. I was really looking forward to working with these kids, I love children. don't worry lady, we will continue to pray for you and your family, especially for the repose of the soul of your step-mum.

Today's Saint
St. Thomas of Villanova (1488-1555)
St. Thomas was from Castile in Spain and received his surname from the town where he was raised. He received a superior education at the University of Alcala and became a popular professor of philosophy there.
After joining the Augustinian friars at Salamanca he was ordained and resumed his teaching, despite a continuing absentmindedness and poor memory. He became prior and then provincial of the friars, sending the first Augustinians to the New World. He was nominated by the emperor to the archbishopric of Granada, but refused. When the see again became vacant he was pressured to accept. The money his cathedral chapter gave him to furnish his house was given to a hospital instead. His explanation to them was that "our Lord will be better served by your money being spent on the poor in the hospital. What does a poor friar like myself want with furniture?"
He wore the same habit that he had received in the novitiate, mending it himself. The canons and domestics were ashamed of him, but they could not convince him to change. Several hundred poor came to Thomas's door each morning and received a meal, wine and money. When criticized because he was at times being taken advantage of, he replied, "If there are people who refuse to work, that is for the governor and the police to deal with. My duty is to assist and relieve those who come to my door." He took in orphans and paid his servants for every deserted child they brought to him. He encouraged the wealthy to imitate his example and be richer in mercy and charity than they were in earthly possessions.
Criticized because he refused to be harsh or swift in correcting sinners, he said, "Let him (the complainer) inquire whether St. Augustine and St. John Chrysostom used anathemas and excommunication to stop the drunkenness and blasphemy which were so common among the people under their care."
As he lay dying, Thomas commanded that all the money he possessed be distributed to the poor. His material goods were to be given to the rector of his college. Mass was being said in his presence when after Communion he breathed his last, reciting the words: "Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit."
Thomas of Villanova was already called in his lifetime "the almsgiver" and "the father of the poor." He was canonized in 1658.

Well I am supposed to be working with abused kids in a house, but when the storms came by a tree fell on the roof of one of the houses. So the kids are all in one house and they don't need that many personnel. I have to wait for a few weeks for them to fix the house. I don't know how long it will take and they don't know either. So my best bet is to find another job. I was really looking forward to working with these kids, I love children. Our heart desire the Lord says he will grant, so i pray the Lord grant you your heart desire. Thanks Oby. How r u? I'm fine my sister, thank you.

@Lady,
I didn't know you are a politician. But remember that the invasion of Iraq was not really because of Osama alone. Though, they could not find him but apart from Osama there were and are still many Osamas in Iraq. US killed thousands of them and so, Osama or no Osama in Iraq does not really matter. Other Osamas were killed.
