Of Interior Conversation“the kingdom of God is within you”, says the Lord (Lk 17:21). convert yourself with your whole heart to the Lord, and quit this miserable world, and your soul will find rest. learn to despise exterior things, and give yourself to the interior and you will see the kingdom of God come within you. for the kingdom of God “is peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Roman 14:17) and it is not given to the wicked Christ will come to you and reveal to you His consolation, if you will prepare Him a fit dwelling within you. all His glory and beauty is in the interior, and there He delights Himself. He frequently visits the man of interior life, holds sweet conversation with him, delightfully consoles him, gives him much peace and is exceedingly familiar with him let us all prepare our heart for this spouse, so that He may vouchsafe to come to us, and dwell within us. for He says: “if any man loves me, he will keep my word, and my father will love him and we will come to him and we will make our abode with him” (John 14.23). therefore permit Christ to enter within you and refuse entrance to all others. when you have Christ, you are rich and He is sufficient for you: He will provide for you and will be your faithful procurator in all things; so that you need not trust in men. for men quickly change and instantly fail: “but Christ remains forever” (Jn 12:34) and stands by us staunchly to the end. no great confidence is to be put in a frail mortal man, though he be useful and beloved; nor should you be grieved if sometimes he be against you and cross you. they that are with you today may be against you tomorrow; place all your confidence in God and let Him be your fear and your love; He will answer for you and do for you what is the best. if you know not how to meditate on high and heavenly things, rest on the passion of Christ and willingly hide in His sacred wounds. for if you turn devoutly to the wounds and precious stigmata of Jesus, you shall feel consolation in tribulation; neither will you care much for being despised by men, but will easily bear the speeches of detractors whence will your patience be crowned if you meet with no adversity? if you will suffer no contradiction, how will you be a friend of Christ? suffer with Christ and for Christ if you desire to reign with Christ if you had once perfectly entered into the interior of Jesus and tasted a little of his ardent love, then would you care but little for your convenience or inconvenience, but would rather rejoice at reproach, for the love of Jesus makes a man think little of himself. A lover of Jesus and of truth, a truly interior man, who is free from inordinate affections, can freely turn himself to God, elevate himself above himself in spirit and enjoy a delightful rest! for there is nothing that so defiles and entangles the heart of man as an impure attachment to created things. if you will refuse exterior consolation, you shall be able to meditate on heavenly things and frequently experience interior joy!

Thursday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time Reading 1 Eccl 1:2-11
Vanity of vanities, says Qoheleth, vanity of vanities! All things are vanity! What profit has man from all the labor which he toils at under the sun? One generation passes and another comes, but the world forever stays. The sun rises and the sun goes down; then it presses on to the place where it rises. Blowing now toward the south, then toward the north, the wind turns again and again, resuming its rounds. All rivers go to the sea, yet never does the sea become full. To the place where they go, the rivers keep on going. All speech is labored; there is nothing one can say. The eye is not satisfied with seeing nor is the ear satisfied with hearing.
What has been, that will be; what has been done, that will be done. Nothing is new under the sun. Even the thing of which we say, “See, this is new!” has already existed in the ages that preceded us. There is no remembrance of the men of old; nor of those to come will there be any remembrance among those who come after them.
Responsorial Psalm Ps 90:3-4, 5-6, 12-13, 14 and 17bc
R. (1) In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. You turn man back to dust, saying, “Return, O children of men.” For a thousand years in your sight are as yesterday, now that it is past, or as a watch of the night. R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. You make an end of them in their sleep; the next morning they are like the changing grass, Which at dawn springs up anew, but by evening wilts and fades. R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart. Return, O LORD! How long? Have pity on your servants! R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. Fill us at daybreak with your kindness, that we may shout for joy and gladness all our days. Prosper the work of our hands for us! Prosper the work of our hands! R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Gospel Lk 9:7-9
Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, “John has been raised from the dead”; others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”; still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.” But Herod said, “John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see him.

difficult to comprehend rite! yeah Oh yes, if only people love God enough to understand his mercy and grace. If only they had critical thinking, sheesh some people just don't understand that sinless cannot dwell in sinful, therefore Mary must have been sinless in order God to dwell within her. Please pray that those who lack comprehension may stop spreading false truths about Our Mother, and those who know her may well defend their faith and not follow man. Glory to Jesus, Honour to Mary!! Have a great day everyone.

i'm cool. for a minute there i was upset that pilgrim.1 had been twisting the teachings of the Church and spreading false truths about the Church to other catholics who have now left the faith.
But I realise those who left had a choice, either look to God for an explanation of your faith or look to man and the chose to look to man.
So I'm cool now, I just feel sorry for those who can't be truthful with themselves.

scott hahn in the book "rome sweet home " wrote that non-catholics usually think they hate the catholic church while in reality, they only hate their perceived notion of the catholic church. i mean, who can really dislike (not to mention hate) the true catholic church if they open their minds and understand her teachings. as always, regnare christum volumus!

as always, regnare christum volumus! This is very true. I have been hearing about this Scott Hahn, I need to pick up his books. Okay that's one more to the list. lol so how is work coming? found something yet? I wish, it's just really really tough to get a job here. They're firing people instead of hiring, and with the situatution now on wall street, well we're all holding our breaths. I still haven't been able to work at the place I got employeed, so I am just keeping my trust in God.

of course they'd challenge anything just to conceal their inadequacies. I wish, it's just really really tough to get a job here. They're firing people instead of hiring, and with the situatution now on wall street, well we're all holding our breaths. I still haven't been able to work at the place I got employeed, so I am just keeping my trust in God. and He doesn't fail

hey lady, i feel you quite alright on that matter! the thing is, i don't even know where to begin in trying to challenge these people who go about twisting the church's teachings . . . they have simply chosen to be blind to the truth so i would rather not even try to challenge or convince them . . . i mean! what's the point! scott hahn in the book "rome sweet home " wrote that non-catholics usually think they hate the catholic church while in reality, they only hate their perceived notion of the catholic church.

exactly! that's it! can yo believe thay even challenged the rosary prayer? i mean do these people do research at all? do they know that the rosary prayer is made up of scripture?
it still boils down to the fact that they have chosen to remain blind to the truth!

which is more important to you? The "church's teachings" or the "Lord's teachings"? can yo believe thay even challenged the rosary prayer? i mean do these people do research at all? do they know that the rosary prayer is made up of scripture?
Where is THE USE of the rosary commended in the bible? If i use a tarot card to say the Lord's prayer would i also be right since the prayer is made up of scripture? Was Luke 1:28 and 42 a PRAYER and to whom where they made? simple questions . . . search your bible. Enough of hiding behind unbiblical teachings.

On top of what? Are these people christians at all? Do they read the bible at all? Do they realise that the first shall be last and the last first? Did they ever note that Christ washed the feet of the disciples? Are these people aware that Christ says that we shld serve one another and let not anyone think too highly of himself? Really . . . on top?
