Terrible State Of The English Language In Nigeria

I don't see anything wrong with it. 
French used to be the pauper's language too and probably so was English. with Latin being the superior language.

I don't see why English now should be superior over local dialects just because they were former colonizers. as long as you're not in english language classroom, speak whatever language you know best. patapata e, people will try to look down on you for not speaking White man's English. that's their problem. as long as you're comfortable with yourself.
