Ramadan Is Knocking
« on: August 30, 2007, 10:53 AM »

Salam to all muslims and all respecters of Muslim beliefs

Just want to send a fat shout to you all anticipating the arrival of RAMADAN.

It's about 12days from now. Never be among those that  would argue on moon sighting and all that. Our detractors and Ignorant scholars/gullible followers will always vomit all sort of remarks to smear, dent and rubbish others. This is not good in the spirit of Ramadan.

Give, give and give, Share, say good words, recite the Quran.

Engage in more azkars, Tahmid,Takbir, tahlil (saying alhamdulilah, Allahuakbar and laillaha illahllah)

NB, Never you stress our sisters on food making(many muslimahs seem to spend all their Ramadan time  thinking about the best recipes, getting  the best veggies and piling up condiments and goodies for family consumption forgetting ibadats)

Ensure you follow the rules of the month and become a better, refined Muslim.

Best of Luck in all that you do. Wink

@ Lukmond,

Dear Brother, Ramadan is a holy month set aside for fasting. Its a very Holy month whr all evils(spirits n Devils) are tied up  to allow a free flow of worship. Its a very rewarding month where each good act of worship is multiplied by 10 n subsequently multiplied into 100s, 1000s n infinity.  Its that same month that the Holy Qur'an was revealed.

The actual date of Ramadan depends on when the moonis sighted, if this month called Shaaban ends on the 29th,the new moon for the holy month would be sighted that nyt n  fastn will commence the follown day whc is 12th of September, but if its 30 days, the moon wl be sighted that day n  then ramadan wl commence the following day whc will be 13th of Sept. It all depends on when the moon is sighted ok.

So Ramadan will commence on either 12th or 13th of September. But ill be announced all over the Radios n TVs once the day is confirmed.

Hope you're ok n thanks 4 your contribution. You r Welcome anytym

Ramadan is the 9th month of the lunar calendar, which is more real and natural than the fabricated and pagan invented gregorian calendar. it is the month in which Allah(SWT) Reveal the glorious qur'an to the best of the Teachers, the best of the leaders rosululah Muhammad(PBOH) this month is so sacred and spiritully imporatnt to muslim, in this month, there is a pratcular Night call Night of Majesty(Lailatul Qodri) any act of worship perform in this Night is worth more than 1000 years of worship. this night fall in between the last ten days of the month. Allah and his messangers knows best. Masalam

Hey Lukmond, Ramadan is just like any other month, nothing like public holiday would be observed. The public holiday Allah willn will be 4 Sallah, which Inshaallah will come up 11th or 12th, thats Thurs, so whenever the break comes up, u hv 4 days break,ok?
Take good cre n be focused

How come these other muslims besides Mukina and oyb on nairaland never come out to socialise on other threads except on threads that have to do with muslim activities.
All the names here are unknown to me.
Anyway muki babe,I wish you  a happy ramadan.
I wish there was somehow you can send me a piece of roasted lamb,I enjoyed that from neighbors  in Jos back in the day.

I always wonder why individual Muslims have to announce a fast. A coworker will tell you at 9 AM that he's fasting when we all know he had a feast at 6 AM.
Anyway I still wish you guys a happy fast Grin
muki make I shut up now before people start abusing me.

@mukina2

There is an error here. Eid-ul Fitr is at the end of ramadan. You mean Eid-ul Kabir? That is when animal is slaughtered and it coincide with Hajj period whhich insha-Allahu will fall in the last 10 days of December this year.

As you all pray, please pray that the Muslims would become tolerant of their non Muslim neighbors especialy in hard core Muslim countries.
That Christians and converts to Christianity no longer live in fear and torment in these places.
That is all we are asking for and that is the only way the world will see Muslims as being peace loving.
Lastly, that the tolerant ones amongst you ( who I believe are in the majority) would rise up and speak firmly and boldly against the ills continually perpetuated by the millions of violent militant ones and mean it not like the NY imam that shook the president's hand saying all the peaceful things but went back home and made a speech captured on hidden camera about his hatred and wish for America and Christians and Jews.

The world is big enough for all of us I believe.
Muslims in Yorubaland are an example to the world that Muslims can indeed live peaceably with their neighbors.
