I also applied for the ND prog, Part Time
I heard the screening exercise will come up on 22 Sept. The ND prog, full time and part time. Its going to be oral and not written as previous screenings. You will have to bring your documents (original/photocopy, i wouldn't know which) for the screening exercise.

Check the school for latest additional news as there may be re-schedules before the main date. I'l appreciate if u get back to me if there is any news. I'm not in Lagos at the moment, 08055804472.

Hi, you guys still want to go and do HND?? Beware!! There is Discrimination o. Had i known would be too late. Go to any university and get a Bachelor's Degree, even if it is a Local Government university, it would still be recognised better than the HND from YabaTech.

@ zebra

This is YABATECH we are talking about here. I'm sure you know YABATECH. You don't need to be told.

Moreover, it's better to follow one's heart in whatever venture one wants to undertake. You may have a point but I suggest you don't be the snake in the garden of Eden on the thread.

@ Ayo4real20

The school is the place to go get the needed info.

@James7bond
What is so special about YabaTech?? atleast for now it's still a College of Technology that awards ND and HND certificates, and not a university that awards Bachelor's Degree. Therefore a graduate with 2.1 BA/BSc/BEd from Taraba state university or Gombe state university will get better recognition than someone with Upper credit HND from YabaTech or Kaduna poly. some companies/Banks in Nigeria will turn you down with HND. Even some govt parastatals turn HND holders down. Better wait for YabaTech to become a full fledged University and start awarding Bachelor's Degree before you talk, not now that they still award *HND*. If you have ND better apply for D.E. in the nearest OOU, Ago-Iwoye or LAUTECH, Ogbomosho.

Flee away from HND program, thats my candid advice. I'm talking from experience; atleast i passed through HND too.

Re: A Yabatech Student?
« #17 on: September 14, 2007, 10:56 AM »

@Mr Zebra
You already said it all. If u are waiting for the government to fix u up before u fix yourself, u go wait tire. I understand what you mean by YABATECH is still a college of education. I do not dispute the fact. It's true what u said about companies being bias about HND and BSC issue.

My advice to all those who are waiting for someone to fix them up, follow wetin Mr. Zebra talk. I know what I seek in Yabatech. and I'm going for it. To me, it's not about the degree really, It's about what I can gain by training.

Talking from an art student point of view. We are all entitled to our different views.

@zebra

cool down chairman. I left yabatech in 2004, i am not just working, i am gainfully employed in one of the best places anyone can dream of working in Nigeria. I think we have discussed this issue of HND and even the government does not have an answer to the problem facing poly graduate, most of us that attended these victimised schools did so because there were few or no alternatives.

@all

I went to three Zenit bank branches yesterday,one at Ojuelegba,another at Tejuosho and the last at Ilupeju,but i didn't find anything.In the one at Tejuosho the guy was saying that the form not being available is a general thing,and that they going to work on the site today being Friday,then on Tuesday we can come and purchase the form because Monday is a public holiday.I don't know how true it is,u never know u might go with this story while something entirely different is going on .So if anybody hears  anything,please do well to reply.Anybody that has bought his/hers should please tell me where he/she bought.thanks.And one more thing,that site no be like site,its more like a wallpaper,nothing they show only pictures of the school.

thanks for the info james.I guess i am supposed to go to the admission department,because i've only been there once.then they said we should check back the next  week.what i really want to know is if these forms have been out since before this zenith bank problem started.because if it were so then i have to find a way to get the form ASAP at least before the closing date.One more thing' the guy i met in the bank said that i shouldn't worry that the site is not going to be shut down again because the site has not been functioning for some time.Although i ain't taking chances but i just thought u should know.
