No I don't have a Dell for 100K.
I have 1 Dell inspiron but it is priced at 128K. I have 4 Toshibas for 99k each though. Care to consider any of those?. I am not sure if they are still available though. If you want a Tosh holler me and I will check to see if they are still available or not.

Hey Andysim, Based on your descripttion it appears that you are leaning towards a dv9700t which is 17" core 2 duo. I didnt find it in 1.8Ghz. The closest in processor speed to your spec are 1.67 and 2.0Ghz. Here is a quote directly from HP for a minimaly configured 2.0Ghz dv9700t (the 1.67Ghz is only $50 cheaper and IMHO is the less desirable option) with tax included :- HP Pavilion dv9700t customizable Notebook PC GT811AV * – Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) * – Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.0GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) * – 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900) * – 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) * – 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS * – FREE Upgrade to HP Imprint Finish (Radiance) + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone!! * – FREE Upgrade to Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and BluetoothTM!! * – 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive * – LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support * – No TV Tuner w/remote control * – 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery * – Microsoft(R) Works 9.0 * – HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope This ships free $1,199.99 $1,199.99 To change quantities or remove selected items, click on Notebook instant rebate –$150.00 Order subtotal $1,049.99 and your order total is, Discount –$150.00 Subtotal $1,049.99 Estimated tax* $90.56 Standard shipping FREE Order total $1,140.55 As you can see, it comes to $1049.99 before tax or $1140.55 after tax. Hi Adewale Afolabi, Before the advent of the HP and Compaq merger via HP's purchase of Compaq in 2001, the Compaq brand name/identity was reknowned for quality ranking (ranked third after IBM and HP in sales) among the best of the likes of IBM, HP, SUN, etc. This singular merger/acquisition event was a result of HP and Compaqs desire to remain competitive in the contemporary PC Business of the day which was marked with intense price wars. At the time although they were ranked 2nd and 3rd by global sales figures they were facing stiff competition and the combined annual revenue following the merger was projected to place them within striking distance of the leader by sales- IBM. AFAIK, this strategy paid off in the long run and IBM eventually sold its fledging PC business to Lenovo in 2004 and HP/Compaq is now ranked first. I would imagine that the current Compaq presarios are manufactured in the same facilities as the other HP product lines. So when you buy a Compaq presario today you are actually buying a HP manufactured product which AFAIK should be manufactured to the same quality as other HPs. I would contend that the Compaq should in fact be as good a product as the HP is. However in my humble opinion, HP has deliberately weakened the Compaq brand name by only producing low end Compaq PC products following the merger. So what I think you actually have is an equally good Compaq product but a weaker brand name. This is just my 2 cents though, regards, Brume PS : here are some useful references :- http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C02E7DE1739F937A3575AC0A9679C8B63http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4077579.stmhttp://pcworld.about.com/od/businesscenter/HP-Acer-beat-up-on-Dell-in-Q3.htm

Hi Luvus, Thanks for your enquiries. The Lenovo brand is a very good brand indeed. They bought the PC business from IBM in 2004. A lot of people are not aware of this. Hi Kidgenius,
I am sorry I was unable to locate an HP model 530 at such a price that it would be to our mutual financial benefit to trade it for 90K cash. As far as I recall (if I am not mistaken), you did not have a further interest in the Compaq Presario. Please let me know if you have reconsidered your stance on that at this time.
Please get back,
Thanks,

Hi Andysim,
Based on currently available pricing I can only do the Celeron based spec you specified for 90K each (this is a wholesale price offer based on your purchase of 5 units per your earlier indication). It appears the Intel Core duo based HP 530s are priced much higher. Based on the prices I am seeing I don't see those coming in at less than 110K each. Perhaps you have found a good source, if you can get those at 95K I would suggest that you take that price.
peace,
Brume
