, i am a nigerian trained specialist/physician working somewhere in the country, i share in your anxieties, worries disappointments and frustrations, its a problem that has affected every strata of the nigerian society, as usual we need to blame the govt for getting its priorities wrong all the time, poor renumerations, non functional multimillion naira bogus equipments, persistent underfunding, despite the so called" VAMED"" initiatives, again there is a need to review the curricula of medical schools on the need to re-emphasize the issues of compassion and priorities, talking about the doc that went away without notice!! its a pity that most practices in Abuja and even lagos leaves much to be desired, quite a lot of distractions and greed abound, in terms of clentele services, be rest assured that if you have any grouse with any medic you re free to report to the medical and dental council, Perhaps you might need to look for a family doctor, for personalised services, the truth is that govt hospitals are virtually dead, its the bitter truth and the stakeholders too are all interested in the perks of office like the politicians, the bottom line is that the country is being raped by everyone, and its therefore sick, but who takes care of it, is it the insensitive govt??,the irresponsible politricians ??,the occasional care free doctors?? or the hapless and helpless populace??
