Pedophile is used colloquially to denote an adult who is exclusively, sexually attracted to adolescents or youths below the age of consent. Also, who is found guilty of child sexuall abuse, or indulge in child pornography.
Multiple thousands of Nigerian girls out there are falling prey to this beasts (pedophiles) who either employ them as maids, apprentists, or even have then as relatives or neibours. They nuture their illicit attraction and then go on to sexually abuse these defensless children. they treaten them, atimes beat them, employ terrible means of making them keep shut.
Our Elders, culture & society in general our not helping the situation. A teenager cannot confide or report suspicion of sexuall advances from a pedophile to even her mother. For fear of been blamed for either seduction or promiscuity. There are laws, but not not enforced. There is no functioning welfare system to protect & look after victims.
Cant say much, but advance countries are winning the battle against pedophiles, am not comparing. But i feel if we see it as a burden to protect Nigerian children, by educating them on these things, keeping an eye on our immediate enviroment, talking more about it in public, We can go a long way in a short time. Nairalanders, hav your say!

It pays to be observant.Mothers especially should watch their kids like mother hawks.And watch the people who come around your child. Often times the abuser is someone who is trusted and is a member of the family. talk to your kids. Let them know that they can tell you anything. Also do not put your kids in harms way. Any one who abuses any child that i know can be rest assured that i will not hush that matter up. That sicko will be exposed and handed over to the police. that's the least i can do. the Nigerian system doesnt work. so many children are suffering. even when the matter is reported. what happens? the child is probably blamed and disciplined or said to be possessed.  People give their vulnerable children as house helps. They let just any random neighbour babysit their kids. Its just a sorry situation. In developed countries if you are proven guilty of molesting a child you could bag 20 to 30 years in prison. Now that's what i'm talking about. |

I don't think the purpose of having kids as maids was so they could be raped - although I disagree with the practice. it's the niggers who abuse the system who create the problem. good parents wouldn't want to give their kids away to monsters. na poverty cause am. |
