) you should. They are good because:
1) There is no need to reinvent the wheel
2) They are popular and used by a lot of companies, including CNN.
3) For the most part, they are cross-browser (they took care of all the conditionals you would have had to take care of yourself)
4) They are all geared towards providing the user with a Rich Internet Application interface which is what many have been yearning for, for years.
