mtv as I had posted is still on nilesat. Infact another sweet channel I discovered is stylenetwork on 12073H 27500. nilesat.
Fuji ku lnb is the super lnb we use here in Kaduna-powerful signal strenght. goes for 2k5.
I need u guys opinion on 27.5w HITV signal please.
HITV is launching in Kaduna today-I have a Free Invite-as they call it. I am hoping to get a free smart card. Grin

@ Enitan

Hi; trust you've been fine. Canalsat Horizons used to have an office in Lagos {VI or Ikoyi somewhere); however i can't find the details online again {seen it some time before); if I come up with anything, i'll let you know.

between I'm now in Lagos till just after Christmas; i should speak to an installer that I know and maybe one or two other people to find out what's happening with satellites in Lagos.

Hi everyone,
got a question for u guys watching foxsoccer, my installer claims i need a 2,4m dish before i can receive it and that would mean i have to give up nilesat position, which is kind of mean. now i know he's wrong about the 2.4m dish but the question is can i receive both nilesat and intelsat805 ( foxsoccer) at the same time, i.e without having to use a motorized dish?
secondly, for enigma and anyone else, i really am not clear on those biss and hex keys. let me explain my problem so maybe you guys can help me out. after inputting 8282 i see a column numbered from 1 to 200 and for hex (8280), it is numbered 1 to 60. do those numbers correspond to the channel numbers? also, there are sometimes two rows, and at other time 4 rows posted online, do i just type in the entire alphanumerics i see?
please guys, i am dying for answers.

hi @ all the experts in thehouse,

i really enjoyed my FTA stuff today, because i just finished watching man utd vs liverpool some few hours ago. The match was broadcasted live on RDV a senegal-based tv station. This is my first time of watching such premiership live match on that station without it being scrambled, but what baffle me most is the station itself joined an arabic station i guess by the name showsports 1, and an arabic language was written under the english name, but that one no concern me sha, i watched the match from start to finish without any scrambling on the way.

I guess i'm getting to love it now, because i only liked it before. The station (RDV) will even be showing arsenal/tottenham match next saturday at 1345hrs.

Enigma,
how you dey now.

badaru1,
i no forget u also. how your end na?

lucky you, couldn't take any chances with the matches today, so i had to go to town to watch them, because my experience with RDV is that the always code up on me right after i sit down to enjoy a game.
it the la liga matches on jsc +1 and +2 that i really wish i could get access to.
anyway guys, still waiting on feedback on that foxsoccer stuff, tried it on my own yesterday but couldnt get any signal, wonder if it was the LNB i was using, so i want to hear from u guys first before deciding whether to buy a new one.

                    something happened to me this weekend,a client of mine bought a 2.6m constructed dish at kaduna and i went to install nilesat for him which i tried to no avail i was only getting one frequency 107---/27500 ie.the 1st nilesat frequency in strong decoder the signal quality was around 67% but i couldnt get others,when i tried with fuji lnb it was all the same infact the former pauxi lnb performed more than fuji because i opened the bottonm completely.
my quest is ,is it because the pan is locally constructed or as i think its not deep enough because we get nilesat with 2.4m dish now theres dry season in the north though it still rain here.

Possible scenarios: The Dish was not properly constructed well.He should have pass through the professionals here in Kaduna. We would have test run it here before taking it to PH.
The position of the dish in PH, is it obstructed,is it in a  valley,or a place where signals is being absorped or distorted.

for you to be a pro in this field, you've got to have a vast knowledge, you mustnt say its notpart of my interest, its still FTA. Its ok if you say you have no idea of it, than to say its not of intrest to you, it would have been better if you havent said anything at all

@enitan

Sorry about late replies; busy with 'runs' during my short stay in Nigeria. Are you using a Strong receiver; if so, I believe that the Strong receivers in Naija do Conax (MyTV & HiTV) and Irdeto (DSTV) encryptions. However, I believe that Canalsat uses Seca/Mediaguard and I don't think the Strong receiver does that. So in a 'wrong' way your friend is probably correct.

@Pitodenz

Sorry, I don't know the type of dish; also, I am more knowledgeable about installing dishes up to 1.2 metres; all those 2.4 things, I really don't know. As jujukemist suggested, check that there is no obstruction to line of sight; check elevation angle ---- for elevation angle you can use www.dishpointer.com; type in your location (e.g. Portharcourt, Nigeria) and the satellite i.e. Nilesat,  and it will tell you what elevation angle to set the dish; obviously check LNB working well, cabling etc. Also when trying for Nilesat some of the best transponders for signal  (in Port Harcourt) are likely to be those on the Middle East beam such as 11766H 27500; 11747V 27500; 10758V 27500; 11804H 27500 etc. Good luck.

@Pitodenz

The kind of dish you are using alwAYS HAS problem of the hands. if the hands are bent or the dish is not well assembled it wont give u good signal. So check d hands again and loose and re assemble the dish again.
