read the whole thing and u will see. i used her as an example. her as an example wasn't meant to describe the whole situation. thats why its call an example. i said how thing basically are unfair for others like when she got out early instead of serving her full term which was 45 days and they told she better serve those days, day 1- day45.

u would understand that tagging Nigerians as Fraudsters is way not being realistic where our government elections is based on fraud, tagging nigerians are fraudsters is not that hard to comprehend. Ikomi, why can't u understand that just because another country does it, it does not mean it is ok for Nigerians to do it. When little children get told off for doing somethin, they say 'but so and so did it'. No offence, but why don't we try and stop this 419 business escallating even further. Why deny that it even happens in the first place. |

See, but it's not just oyibos who think that Nigerians are scam artists. Even among Africans, people tag Nigerians as thieves, liars and scam artists. So don't just blame it on the West trying to tarnish Naija's image, clearly, plenty of thieving Nigerians have done a good job of that themselves.

See, but it's not just oyibos who think that Nigerians are scam artists. Even among Africans, people tag Nigerians as thieves, liars and scam artists. So don't just blame it on the West trying to tarnish Naija's image, clearly, plenty of thieving Nigerians have done a good job of that themselves.
Other afros call us whatever they want because the read western press and listern to western news. Fraud, scam are bad but is not peculiar to nigerians only. Just take time to check your bulk mail in your email address and read all those mails their you will notice that they are more fraudlent than nigerians infact nigerians learn from them and add a little spice on it. We cannot report or write about it because we don't have access to an international media or even when you write to them they will ignore it and focus on the one that concerns Nigeria and Africa. |

I agree that we need to address our reputation as fraudsters. However, one thing baffles me, how come upon all the dishonesty, murder and violence White people have been involved in throughout history, noone holds it against them as a race, their image of being the most upright of all races is untainted.
Let an Arab person bomb, all are tainted even if they are not muslim, let a Nigerian steal all are tainted, let a Jamaican peddle drugs, all are tainted, but when a European commits crime, he alone bares the responsibility, why are they under separate rules?
419 in many cases is only a success where there is a dishonest victim. Having said that, we don't need to give others the right to think of us as thieves. Although we have our fair share of scam artists, Fraud was not created by a Nigerian.

Um, no. The other Africans that have this opinion of Nigerians based on personal dealings with Nigerians. I even asked, "Is it based on what you see on the news?" and they said, "NO! I have dealt with these people myself." So again, you can blame "the media" all you want, but there are plenty of Nigerians out there who are living up to that portrayl. |

It does not make it right which i stated clealy in my post, is it peculiar to nigerians only NO why then is ours treated differently. Coming to think of it, 419 takes two to tango if there is nobody across the atlantic that is willing to colaborate with these guys i do not think it will ever come to pass. So both Nigerians and Europeans, Americans and others are part and pacel of the fraud ring. Beleive me the day they will stop responding to to all those fraud mails from Nigeria, that day 419 will cease to exist. It wil die a natural death. Um, no.

If they conclude on personel dealing with a single nigerian in a population of 144million thats does not make all of fraudstars. If you beleive in what he said then you are a fraudstar yourself going by your conclusion. |
