Yemi Tella has proved his worth as coach, we should allow Voght's to do the same.

Didn't Nigerians complain bitterly when Nduka Ugbade and Friday Ekpo, where introduced after Amuneke and Amokachi were stretchered off in the game against italy?, Talk about merit indeed! And wasn't it the last time those 2 played for Nigeria again?

Why do you make this Berti Vogts seem like he's Carlo Ancellotti of AC Milan.  Our very own Onigbinde lead Super Eagles to Scotland to beat his team while he was coach of the Scotland side.
Atleast, Tella has started setting a record for himself.

we are not talking salary here here. let yemi prove himself is all i ask for. volt has been to Scotland, Nigeria etc. at less he has gained experience.

Well I think the tenacity and determination of the boys did it. Tella was super-focused and goal-oriented so give him some credit.

Lets look at the fundamentals: Do we treat our local coaches the way we treat foreign coaches yet we want them to achieve the same result( can we agree to pay a Nigerian a month salary for coaching for 10-20days in a month or atimes complete absence for a month,  impossible). Oyinbo man cannot pay u if u are absent at your duty post for a day. we can afford to owe our indigenous coaches but not Oyinbo Coach. Even the salary package is a lot of difference. until we learn to beleive and respect ourselves we can't get the best from these indigenous coaches.They have the latent ability and intelligence that can make them excel if given the necessary support and Encouragement. As for the technicalities, the spanicsh boys play for teams like Barca, Madrid and athletico Madrid feeder teams while our boys are based in the Local leagues. We all have to learn the great lesson which is that we have a great lot of potentials locally that have not been tapped. U need to see how perfectly they took the penalties, the spaniards were so confident they will win the Penalties. Check out the water-tight defence and the not so bad midfielders. The spanish midfield was choked with 5 midfielders but the nigerian defence line did a wonderful work to mop-up all their efforts. At the end of 120 mins, via penalty shoot out, Nigeria scored three fantastic penalties while the foreign based spaniards cannot get a goal pass the wonder boy Ajiboye(goalkeeper), its not a fluke guys , but a job well done. All hail the eaglets , ITS FOOTBALL MADE IN AFRICA, NAIJA TO BE SPECIFIC. It is not by Fluke that our boys are making Waves all over Europe.

I don't think Yemi Tella was lucky. Rather i'll say he is a good coach. I'm very certain that if Berti Vogts is allowed space and given the free hand, he'll also prove himself. Remember Shuaibu Amodu, Austin Eguavon and others who also excelled at one point or the other as coaches in nigeria. The secret is just to give them the free hand to do their jobs then let's wait and see the results.

It seems no one here knows that Berti Vogts won the Euroropean Championship
(Euro 96) with Germany as the coach.


They were appointed because of their glittering playing career. Berti
had a fantastic career as a player winning th world cup in 1974 and
getting to the finals in 1978.

-He played in Borrussia in the 70s and won a german cup, uefa cup twice and the Bundesliga 5 times
-He played for W.Germany, garnered 93 caps for Germany and making him one of the most capped players in Germany
-He coached the Under-20 of Germany, became the assistant coach of the German team, he won the euro cup for Germany in 96, coached Leverkusen, Scotland,kuwait and now Nigeria.

No one doesnt want Nigerian coaches not to be given chance to work but this comparison will send Tella to his grave if he hears about it. Difference is clear like 7-up will say.

there really is no basis of comparison, but let the fact be said Yemi Tella is the not the bset coach we have had/have, neither is Bert Volswagen the best or ever will be the best coach. so u all quit the yapping
