Your Ultimate James Bond Actor and Movie?
« on: September 10, 2007, 07:33 PM »

I watched over 12 Bond Movies, over the weekend. And it just struck me if I was to pick the ULTIMATE Bond actor: Connery, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan who would it be?

The guy who did "On her Majesty secret's service" does not count. After one Bond movie and the only Bond who wedded (SHEESH). He deserves no place in the Bond hall of fame.

Daniel Craig is good. He injected new life into a dying genre. But after just one movie, blah!!!! He can't compete with the bigger Bond boys.

Dalton was too emotional for me, carrying his Shakesperean days most likely posing wrong influence.

My top 3 would have to be Connery, Moore and Brosnan.

My top 2 Moore and Connery.

My ultimate Bond?

Roger Moore!!!! Even though he sucks the most when you juxtapose him with Ian Fleming's  novel Bond .

He jelled the time he came out. He brought a magical blend of wit, ruthlessness, sacarsm and ingenuity. He had too many sides to him, that no other Bond did.

Roger  Moore is my ultimate Bond!

My best Bond will have to be Live and Let Die. Brosnan's Tomorrow Never dies was tight too!

Man, i beg to differ.
If you want to talk about class, style, panache, sexuality Sean Connery is by far the best Bond ever. Just a look at him and you already see all the women in the world 'dying' for him. he is by far the best personification of the ideal Bond personality.
For second place i'm torn between Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. While Brosnan comes closest to that Bond ideal, the bond films he made were not as 'bond' as those made by Moore. He suffered from being part of sunset of the bond genre. Moore did the most bond films and is more easily associated with bond to most bond fans. His personal style gradually began to define 'bond'.
Timothy Dalton in my opinion doesnt count.
Daniel Craig? Well maybe they should have called him James 'Jimmy' Bond - the son of bond from the that marriage in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Yes he got the action part right. but that sexuality is totally missing. and he seems too detached.

Ooooooh, one of my favorite topics!  Smiley U people, blv it or not i liked Timmy Dalton!  Huh Yes. i know, i get that reaction  every time i say it but i just like him. But i think the ideal 007 is objective, if u think James Bond should be sexy and suave, Pierce Brosnan is it but he gives the impression of someone who would compromise his mission for a roll in the hay! Roger Moore was pretty good (nice combination of traits as toluwa said) but i think Sean Connery's movie career got better with age, i can't stand him as 007. Now Daniel, Daniel, Daniel, actually didnt turn out as bad as i expected. But the movie was bland, too much romance. But when the bond babe betrayed him. i thot "now am watching james bond". bond babes r sposed to be tigresses not all lovey-dovey.  Pierce is still my favorite bond though. Ever wonder,if Casino Royale is sposed to  be a throw back to d first bond, why use the same M? Huh I like that they brought back physical action to 007 in CASINO because Die another day was too full of technological gizmos for me. What was ur favorite Bond opening sound track and graphics, Mine was Tmw never dies & Live and let die? the one for Casino was too dry, Maddona singing "Die another day" was good too. GOSH,am i talking too much? i could go on and on about James Bond.
