I was preparing for the Dec 1 examination also, but I  am very much behind in my studying and I am considering postponing.  I ordered some study materials from America and I have not received it yet, so I have just relied on the internet.

@Wyt
June exams can be written in Ghana while for the December exams, you may choose between South Africa, Cairo in Egypt, Dubai in UAE, London,Ireland,Cardiff etc in the UK.

I ordered a comprehensive package (Study notes, Passmaster questions bank, lecture notes et al) from Stalla in the USA, and i have them with me. I'm thinking of postponing too till June because whats the use of writing exams when i know ill fail. So, guys can hook up.

its best if u can start preparing now. Go to www.stalla.com and buy the comprehensive study package.
you can also check CFA's website to check for other tuition providers.
I know Schaweser too is good.

I meant we start reading now and meeting every two weeks in a person's house/nearby school to do focus groups,
The concept of finance is leverage
Some ple have strenghts in quant methods, some econs others valuation of investments
If we can leverage on each other it would be xtremely beneficial

Nice one Nice one
I'll really love to be on board with you onthis
As you said the CFA designation is tight considering the role that financing is going to play in the Nigerian Millenium
Managers of Capital would be required
I guess that would be us

well said Biolabee
The only vibrant sector is Finance in this country. Even the God given sector Oil and Gas is moribund or how will one explain why NNPC will not get involved in oil exploration, why is the NigerDelta reeking of neglect with all what the region has given the country, how many Nigerians has been employed by the Oil and Gas sector? all these questions are signs that that sector is jinxed.

Finance managers will be needed in droves in the next 3-10 years, the banks are getting stronger, investment banking is on the rise, the capital market is growing and getting sophisticated, More and more institutional investors are seeing Nigeria as the next place to be. Home grown investment advisors, equity managers, investment bankers, financial analysts  etc will be needed. The time is here to position ourselves, grow with the industry and carve a name for ourselves in the industry.

Watch out for me Grin Grin Grin

I have your number

Hello Nairalanders,

If u have to study u have to study, i wrote the exam last dec at south Africa and i banged,

The exam is twisted and plays with words,

All the Nigerians i met at S.A. banged too,

so study,

you can't mix it with pleasure,

the topics are american based so it wont be easy for a nigeria as it would for a nigerian

I have a cousin that is chartered in the US. he works as a Manager in a finanicial firm he has a house there and properties here, he is just 32

One love people

All the best,  CONSTANT DRILLING HOLLOWS OUT A STONE
