I had the same problem too. 36 JJ

There are three things you could do,

Have a professional bra fitting

Sometimes wearing the wrong bra can make you look bigger than you actually are. With the right size, your breasts are secured firmly, making them look more shapely and reducing the matronly look. You might find your new bra size increases when you get fitted but the support it gives is far more better.

Be aware of your posture

With heavy breasts one tends to stoop unconsciously. Sticking out your chest wouldn't make them look bigger, it will lift them up again giving them shape and reducing the appearance of overabundant breasts.

Get a bra minimiser

This is a special bra that is created to bring in your breasts without comprising the size.

Exercise

Doing chest push ups against the wall can help strengthen the underlying muscles in your chest and can shape up the breasts thus reducing the appearance of heavy breasts

Hope i was able to help out a bit  Smiley

That wont minimize it now, i think the only solution is surgery.

I feel like the only way to deal with that is through losing weight. . .

As a 42 DD, it means that you need to lose weight,  assuming you are wearing the right size of bra for your body frame. This is because you have a large band size(42) but small boobs (DD cup).

So I think you should explore that option first before any thing else.

I know because I am a 36HH. Any other band size e.g 38 or 34 rides up my back and any other cup size makess my boobs spill out or makes me look like I have sagging breasts.

I guess the ladies have given you the best advise. Loose some weight and get the right bra.

If you live in naija, i guess that will be a little problem,  busty ladies do not have variety here. I learnt recently that they have to go to second hand (Hand me down) markets to get firm bras to wear!!!! that the new ones are not firm they give way easily. Am capitalising on this info O! will come out with my own outfit soonest to cater for all Busty women in naija. Its not a crime to be busty but a gift. Cheer up sistas!

Also if your bra size is really big be ready to cough at good money (at least 5K,  it cheaper than a Hawes and Curtis Shirt Wink)to get good bras from quality shops in the uk such as Marks and Spencer or Bravissimo because as bebe2007 rightly pointed out, tejuosho is your worst bet. Try the underwear shop at the palms or Pretty Undercover at Lafayette plaza on Sanusi Fafunwa in VI (I use them and I'm ok with them and their prices), if you live in lagos.

Check this out:

Also never buy from anybody that doesn't let you try the bras on as you can easily get the wrong size or fitting. Fittings vary between brands and styles

If your boobs are too heavy for your frame and gives you back pain, then seek more professional help which may end up in surgery but don't mess with your boobs because it makes you feel too big. Go natural girl and remember that nobody can reject or put you down if you didn't give them the permission.

hi amymia

i don't envy u and other ladies like u. Wink it can be extremely embarassing and stressful. u said u were "plump", i guess u mean obese. u need to loose weight.

d normal body mass index is 25 - 30. calculate yours, height in kg / weight in square metres. and work towards it.

if u bust is as large as u say, then surgery(reduction mammoplasty) is the only  way. see a general sugeon, we don't hav breast surgeons in Nigeria.

hpope this helps. best of luck Smiley

Loose some weight and get the right bra.  Go and buy CAMEO Bra.  It's Uk Bra and it's very firm.  You won't regret it. It's just N1,500 but very good and firm.  Buy it and get back to me please. Get it as soon as possible (asap).  Good luck.
