Brt----------a Disaster Waiting To Happen!

September 12th 2007 was the day i hung my head in shame at what our government in Lagos sate hope to achieve with this BRT initiative.

I rushed out of my office to ikeja to go run some errands and decided to go by bus instead of driving knowing that the hour i decided to go out was the peak time of heavy traffic everywhere.

As usual as we got on Ikorodu road we all fell in line like a military parade waiting for inspection on parade ground.20 minutes in the traffic a siren started to blow, knowing this was not the regular sound the bullion dogs make we all turned in the bus only to see a fire truck stuck in that same traffic.

Fire truck oh my God!only God knew the destination of danger.30 minutes still in traffic the driver decided to climb the culvert to the other side where the traffic was a bit light and face 1 way.

BRT,  Angry BIGGER RIGHT (IN YOUR FACE) TRAGEDY)

Going to work and coming back home is traumatic.

Our government is doing something good but unfortunately when we plan infrastructurally we do not anticipate disasters or emergency situations. We just plan and build for the sake of it.Today it is BRT ,tomorrow only God knows what it will be.

Countless accidents keep happening on Ikorodu road especially, people running into broken down petrol tankers, cars running into the heavy concrete demarcation etc.

Imagine a new comer or a long time vistor in Lagos state who comes in at night and before now knows ikorodu road is just a long stretch of road unconsciously he gets on the road and begins to drive and before u know it he runs into one of those concrete death traps.

I know the Government mean well, but they should also think before embarking on un-necessary projects. My own happiness is that no matter how ignorant these people are(people in government) and how rich they pose to be,we all will be stuck in the same traffic Grin except they want to fool themselves and begin to chatter caverton helicopters every where.

I just sincerely hope this BRT thing won't be another white elephant project, which only causes more harm than good to the good people of Lagos state. Cry
