Maltina Dance Hall: My IssuesI watched the Maltina Dance Hall yesterday where the 3 families had to dance to save the proposed evictees. I sincerely feel that the judges are not doing a good job. If you watched the pantomime by the families members, you'd agree with me that the last dancer (Ereoluwa-Ella who's theme was that of a town crier) was extremely good. H/e to my dismay, Deborah Adetola was chosen to remain in the house. I think something is really amiss here. Even the judges acknowledged that the last dancer did so well. So why did they by pass him to choose another? Maltina Dance Hall, wetin dey happen oooo??? Any hidden agenda?

i strongly feel the judges are partial. from the beginning, its been happening. look at the case of jessica ( salsa dance). the judges praised her and critisized the likes of halle, debbie and sharon, yet jessica was up for eviction. The show is CRAPY. I don't bother watching it anymore

I disagree about the show been crappy. I love the thrill watching them dancing and hearing the judges response especially Muyiwa's.
The maltina family dance show has brought alot of families together and it is the only show that has kept every member of my family glued to the Tv. its fun watching the families dance, the laughter and all that.

ATTENTION! What is happening? This judges are really taking the steam off the show. I just saw the partial eviction of halle umordu, who obviously(even to a blind man) performed best. Is this a competition or child's play? Luis Ibe is too stiff and he should have left the house before now. Why do i get to see the best people evicted all the time? Judges stop being sentimental and incredibly partial or this maltina danceall show will be a complete flop. Pleasssssee make sure the judges read this.

Please can someone tell me the idea behind the show?? It infuriates me! I saw Nigerians practicing salsa dance steps! It's sooo not Nigerian. Kinda makes me hate maltina even more! They are spending so much money to sponsor a very pointless programme when the funds could be diverted for more sensible and productive things! They should give money to the Motherless, provide scholarship for the talented and less privileged or jus keep their money instead of making Nigerians dance on air for no reason! Please someone should please explain to me if you think i'm wrong! We have too many social and economical problems in this country and of all of these things. . . . .a programme about dancing is all MALTINA cud pick!

MALTINA DANCE HALL! I tuned in yesterday night while i was waiting to watch newsline. It started off being very interesting but when i saw the first dance cha cha i was like cha cha for naija ke?I thought this show should have been an opportunity to showcase how much family members know about the Nigerian culture and dances from different parts of the country. Because i caught snipets from before the show started. When they visited individual families across the country. I tuned away to watch newsline during a commercial break i went back and i saw the father/daughter, mother/son combo it was nice .It showed how far family would go to help out.But i still no gell for the cha cha dance sha. Then it was time for the judges to say something and boy did they yarn dust especially that chick that thinks she is nana fromk idols. The babe just opened her muth and talked crap.Organisers you messed up bigtime with the ,content and judges. Your concept is dance hall THEN lets see families do african steps the morden way. Lets see them add a bit of hip to it and present it to the world. For crying out loud salsa and cha cha for a Mr Adetola or Mr Imodu .A BIG NO NO Then judges:because idols had 2 guys and a lady, does not mean u should follow suit.Sorry but 1 your choice of judges just dulled the whole show and then when they opened their mouth to comment it was just pure CRAP! Nid i add here that i don't think i would ever bother to watch it again. This time it's thumbs down for NIGERIAN BREWERIES!

i@phenomenon I think your post is senseless, Nigerians must relax , unwind and Maltina dance all is a good concept, i mean see father an ddaughter dancing together. I was really tripped, its a way to bring families 2geda. After eviction, the families have still taken somethin away. Unity and relaxation, family time.
Anyways to the peoplethat know wats up. i agree, th ejudges are partial. if they aint then their criteria for determining who stays leave smuch to be desired

I like the show and don't miss it but sometimes i wonder if the judges knw anything about some of the dance. the imohdu family dance was the best for me so far yesternite but they were evicted but i don't know on what basis. the mother really tried so well.
luis martin-ibi, another eviction scale, only i wonder how they were not evicted lastnite? but above all the prog is cool

The judges are just senseless and whack. What does that Prie know? She was just yarning dust as far as I am concerned. Even the presenter is quite dry for a dance reality show. Why didnt they use a lively and bubbly person that dances too like kaffy or something?
To me that Louis martins Ibi is too stiff and Halle danced very well. Debby was also o.k and her family danced well too especially her sister with the low cut and her dad too. To me Louis and his family were the worst performers for the night.
The concept behind the show is definitely a very good one its meant to bring families together. There's nothing wrong in dancing Salsa. But to me the cha-cha dance is very un-necessary. The 2 dances are quite similar. After they danced salsa, they should have moved on to a nigerian or african dance like maybe sikulu southafrican dance or something nigerian like fuji, galala, yahoozee or even atilogwu or benin dance.
But what angers me the most about the show are the whack and senseless judges.Or maybe they have a predetermined winner. Because me I don't get.Why didnt they even allow the viewing audience to vote after the judges nominated like every other sensible talent reality show?

My dear I appreciat your opinion but you must realise that mine aint senseless! Families together?? I really hope cha cha brings an end to family problems. By the way. . . .are you involved in the whole thing?? Still stand my ground and you should really ask yourself if this is the best thing the breweries can offer Nigerians at this point in time! `

Mai people, i agree that the concept is ok. But abegiiiii, the judges are messing things up. What criteria do they use in judging the dancers. They should give some informed judgement (i think Muyiwa tries with this) I have lost interest in d show; Sha i think Tessy and Chukwuma may slug it out in d final stage Abi wetin una think?

@phenomenon maltina dance hall did not set out to settle family issues or promote african dances they obviousely have their own vision as it concerns this program neither u nor i are in a position to tell them what to do. Salsa and cha cha are in no way the same. i know 5 diffrent latin dance styles and i go to outings every weekend dedicated to these dance styles. so if u are not in the know about them, sorry its YOUR IGNORANCE! lets remain objective the only things wrong with this program are the fact that i see kids doing some obscene dances and the judging that leaves more to be desired.

ok sori. maybe i came too strongly on you. No am not involved in any way. when you mean the best thing Nigerian brewries can offer thats what annoys me, am tired of people frowning at entertaining and relaxing shows like GUS and this now. Everybody cannot donate money to charity or sponsor educational shows. Nigerians know next to nothing about relaxation. Anyways about chacha solving family issues thats not the objective of the program i think, it'l be really nica and relaxing to see my dad dancing, taking my mom out to dance or something, just unwinding, when Debbie was dancing with her dad, i was really tripped, to see her dad doin yahoozy / chacha was really entertaining. I wont mind doin something relaxing with my dad, a sort of family unwinding. It promotes unity. Plus the money is a bonus for them. Thats my perspective. You are entitled to urs

@toyin1709 i feel u jare the first person i expected to see as a judge was kaffy, then a musician who does a lot of dance in his videos then to show they are serious they would hvae gotten a latin dance specialist those judges look too stiff to even lift a leg in salsa or cha cha,so how do they actually judge. i think maltina just set out to sha do reality tv show in line with what is going on around but they did not set out to look serious and create a show that would keep evolving like GUS.I mean check out the presenter meeeeeeeeen!i was not going to go there but that chick is dulling the whole show she should be presenting a couples game not dance she herself should liven things up by throwing down a few digs once in a while. And those judges, they must dance oh at the end of it all at least in idols nana and dede showed us they where tru professionals by actually singing so those crappy judges must dance.I pray that maltina does not go down like the intern did .A HUGE FLOP! @uchetobi this is a forum where people are allowed toair their views i hate it when people wash other people's opinions down.I really hated your response to phenomenom.
