However, what u feed on will reflect on what u get addicted to. What are u watching? What are you reading? If it's some steamy soaps and some steamy novels, it's going to be hard to get yourself un-addicted. Guard your heart, for it's where the issues of life spring from. A lot of discipline will be needed for a true and serious break away from the addiction.

i aint preaching,
but if you are "born again", and still addicted to having "unholy" sex, then boy, you've got a problem. In fact, the "cold-blood truth" is that you are not born again.
here:
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection:
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Rom 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Rom 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Rom 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Rom 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Rom 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Rom 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death.
Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

@kimba I do not agree with the statement that if "but if you are 'born again', and still addicted to having "unholy" sex, then boy, you've got a problem. In fact, the "cold-blood truth" is that you are not born again." For temptations are common to man, and wether you fall into them or not is something that everyone goes through. I'm sure even you as a reborn Christian fall into sin, and all sin is the same to God. That does not mean you are now condemned to Hell. For as long as the heart desires to go on, and your fighting for what God has for you, you shall be saved.
"Stumbling man is made strong"
Although i must say those verses are very powerful.
James, Unfortunately life around us sometimes does not change, even though life within us does. Yes, when we are born again we are completely new creation, but that does not mean the temptations of life are still not going to be existent. To have an addiction to sex is a complete strong-hold upon your life. For the bible says that they are made one when that action of sex takes place So not only are you committing adultery of the physical and spiritual you’re tying yourself to that women. Holding yourself back from the true equally yoked women God has for you. Not only that but her problems are now yours, her struggles are now given onto you, because you given the authority for her attacks to be laid down upon your life.
Know this that it is a rough thing to stay away from the desires of the flesh, but thats the reason why we have to keep on fighting, to never give into those desires. You don't know how many people God can put in front of you if you overcome this problem. You can really minister to their lives on not making this mistake. Try your hardest to overcome it, watch where you mind wonders off to, for it will have the next affect in your actions. Remember what the bible says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6). Satan is fighting over your life, and its up to you wither your going to give it to him or not. He wants you to fall into this temptation, but its not something you can fight its something you need to run from (example Joseph who ran from the women). Life is a struggle till we get to heaven, and the prophetic message from this verse is that we need to feed our spirit to overcome the flesh. I know that when i deal with the same temptation i get into my word, worship, or pray and it helps strengthens me against my problem; giving my spirit control of the next move, rather than my flesh.
Verse to remember 1 Corinthians 10:13 “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

Without trying to sound self righteous, I try to apply the tenets of the bible to my life as far as humanly possible. The bible says if your eyes causes you to sin, gouge it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with no eyes than to suffer eternal damnation. In the same vein, if your magic stick is standing in your way to salvation, chop it off, you are better off entering heaven without it than going to hell with it. Chikena.

@all please understand the verse that Dauda said (Matthew 5:27-30), is not meant completely in the physical, but rather in the spirtual as well. For example if I'm lusting within a relationship I am in and is causing me to fall, i should cut off that relationship.

A Temptation or A Practice?
16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? (Rom.6:16).
6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. (I John 3:6).
8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. (I John 3:8 ).
9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. (I John 3:9).
None of us might really understand the depth of your struggles. However, all I can do is pray that God delivers you from whatever addiction you're fighting against, and give you the power to enjoy the riches of His grace.

Jamesz,
I do understand you totally but you have got to help yourself. One thing you can't do is just sit down and say that "i am addicted to sex and i can't do nothing about it". You are a born-again christian you should know that you have to pray over the spirit of sex, rebuk it, speak to the spirit, tell it you detest it and bind over it. You have to pray VERY hard. Also, pray to God tell him in Jesus name that you want to get rid of whatever is making you addicted to sex.

@kimba, i disagree with u on this, its possible that jamesz is born again but still struggling with this particular sin. you don't drop all those things you used to do before getting born again just like that, it takes time. Even Paul, the major writer of the New Testament said the evil things that he should not do, are the very things that he finds himself doing, and the good things that he should do are the things that he doesn’t do. (Romans 7:19) like it or not, temptations will come, however,we should not indulge in sin but pray to overcome every temptation that comes our way and if we fall into temptation then we should ask for forgiveness and rise up again. james, you must continue to listen and meditate on God's word and let it transform and renew your mind completely, good luck.

gospelman (m)

Ashbaby, you are so right.Kimba you are so wrong.
Now let the gospelman speak! Being born is a spiritual occurrence that can be explained by the biological experience of being born(if you know what I mean!)
Kimba, the day you were crawling(walking on all fours) did it mean you were no more a human being but an animal? You were born by your parents biologically speaking. Then they feed you with food. Now the type of food you were feed with had something to do with your growth process and all that.Ever seen malnourished kids before with some large tommies and all that?Don't tell me they are not human beings.
What makes you a human being is not what you do or do not do or how you walk(different from all other animals). What makes you human is the type of life(human life) in UThe day that life is removed and some other life put in there, say an animal life, you will become an animal.Nebuchadnezzar became an animal one time, remember? When you bring forth a baby into the world,it's your responsibility to feed it and train it in the way he should go,otherwise he can get disfigured by hunger(or even die) and go in the way he should not.
Now,what makes someone born again? It is the removal of the human life and impartation of the life of God into that person. In other words it is when one receives the God-kind of life. The moment that happens you become righteous(not based on your behavior but on the nature of God in you:by grace are we all saved). Now,after you are born again and you do not feed on the word of God(you feed on home videos and other erotic materials) you will go in that direction. However, righteousness is not the same thing as right living.
So that the guy is still having sex after he had been born again does not mean he is not born again. The point is that he has been feeding on the wrong stuff. He has been malnourished and malnutrition can kill.if you know what I mean! Therefore,he is not portraying his real/true nature.Righteousness(being born again) is a nature. However, that nature has its own food and when you do not eat it,people will begin to wonder what is wrong with you because your actions will no longer align with your professed true nature. And that is a problem! But it does not mean your nature has changed!See?
So my brother James, all you need do is stay away from the wrong materials on TV and elsewhere.Stay away from people whose communication are not godly.Study the word, watch and listen to Christian materials;meditate on them. And out of the abundance of your heart your mouth will speak. And your life goes in the direction of your words(speaking).
So the bottom line is:what you hear and see constantly will fill your heart. And your words reflect what's in your heart. And ultimately your actions are based on your words. As a man thinks in his heart so is he.If you think sex all the time, you will have sex whether you like it or not.
So start saying what God say you are:
"I am born again not of corruptible seed but of the incorruptible; the word of God that lives and abides for ever.I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, therefore, sin has no dominion over me because I am not under the law but under grace. My life reflects the glory, nature and character of God,whose I am and whom I serve with my spirit.Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.I am not a victim but a victor, more than a conqueror. Therefore, sex is under my feet in the name of the Lord Jesus. The bible says "how can a young man clean his ways?By doing your word".Therefore, as I do your word,my ways are cleansed ,my heart is purified,my mind is renewed by the power of the Holy Ghost. In have been separated from the corrupting influences of this world.Even though,I live in this world,I am not of this world".
If you consistently declare these words day in day out.You will surely testify to the glory of God.
Gospelman!

hey man! we all know we are humans and therefore fallible. we also know that Gods Grace is always there for us but then we don't have to sin knowingly because Grace abounds. knowing that what you're about to do is a sin and you still go ahead to do it, and not knowing that you are sinning are two different things entirely. Like my fellow pastors and pastress's rightly said, you got to get a grip on yaself bro!

Facts, speak of facts, never mind the rhetoric. The rhetoric is yours. The facts are in God's Word. Fact #1. Those who truly believe in Jesus Christ are born again. - 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13) - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. - (I Pet. 1:23.) - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (I John 5:13). Fact #2. Born again believers face temptations like everyone else. - 41Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matt.26:41) - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (I Cor.10:13). Fact #3. Believers are given power in the Holy Spirit to live above sin. - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Rom.8:2) - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (Rom.8:13) - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (girl 5:16) Fact #4. It is possible that believers might fall into grievious sins. - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (I Pet.5:8 ) - Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (I Cor.10:12) Fact #5. Not all sins are on the same level of seriousness. - 16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. (I John5:16-17). Fact #6. Believers who repent can receive forgiveness and deliverance. - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9) - And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (I Cor.6:11). Fact #7. God is not chrisd - He is Who He says He is. - Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Heb.7:25) - Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering - for He is faithful that promised (Heb.10:23). - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Heb.11:6)

my question to you is - Do you want to stop?
Recognize you've got a problem here
Confess and ask God for forgiveness
seek counsel from your pastor and be accountable to him
Rom 8:1,2 - there's therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death if you continue in sexual sin, you are walking after the flesh and there will be condemnation from the devil.

@Choice. A I need to correct you on these two facts:
Fact #1: Thousands of people believe in Jesus Christ and that He is the son of God and that does not make them Born again. Only as your quoted verse says: "But to all who did receive him are born again."
Fact #5: All unrighteousness is sin. An adulterer, thief, prostitute and liar are all sinners and on Judgement day none of them will get any special treatment. They will all go to hell unless they repend as qouted in Fact #6

They will all go to hell unless they repend as qouted in Fact #6 As far as I know, we are both saying the same thing: no ambiguity. Fact # 1. Believing in Jesus Christ is the same as Receiving Him. No one can receive Him without having believed in Him. And by believing in Him, you are actually receiving Him. That's why we don't see the Bible being so fastidious about what word to use in other verses on the subject of the new birth - whether 'believe' or 'receive'. Both words are used in John 1:12 as a matter of emphasis ("all who did receive him, who believed in his name"). Try the following: (a) "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." [John 20:31]. (b) "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." [Act 16:31] (c) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." [Rom 10:9] (d) "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." [I John 5:13] You'll see here that the apostles did not stretch the prerequisites for being saved. It's as simple as believing and getting saved. Believing = Receiving. By believing, you receive the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. Fact # 5: In this age of grace, there are certain sins - whether by commission or omission - that a person could commit that might not merit the same level of judgement. True, all unrighteousnes is sin, and those who do not repent will ultimately end up in the same place of judgement. However, as far as I know from the Bible, while we are living today, it is clear that not all sins are treated on the same level before God. See the following: (a) "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." [Matt.12:31] __ "And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." [Matt. 12:32]. (b) "All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. [I John5:16-17]. (c) "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation." [Matt. 23:14]. [see Luke 12:47-48 also]. We may differ in small details, and I appreciate your inputs. Carefully consider the preceding in their contexts and perhaps they might enrich our exchange of thoughts.

JamesZ, You are not condemned, because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. It's sad that many are throwing stones at you, yet addictions happen all the time! You are as vulnerable as anyone even when you are a Christian. However, the fact that ur still vulnerable makes you want to pray even more. There are many Christians that are addicted to different things, but sex seems like the biggest sinful addiction, yet it doesn't mean that it is. Some have said that you should switch faiths, how will that help? Making sexual addiction permissive? Making you less vulnerable? I really don't know about that. I like what segedoo wrote. It's still a problem no matter who you are, and it doesn't make it less serious whether u get condemned or not. But sexual addiction IS complicated and can be a tangled web of mess. That's why as urgent as it is, the decision to stop and seek the necessary counsel lies within you. I really wish u all of God's blessings, and trust me, if you really want to stop, God knows that you want to stop and He's willing to aid you and carry you through. Read through the verses by Choice. A. Very important. Regard what will help you and disregard that which won't help you.
