Cataract is the clouding of the eye lens. It becomes hard to focus on objects and things seems dark to the person who has cataract. The whitish appearance indicates a change in the lens fibers.

The principal antioxidants in the lens of the eye are vitamin C and E. Both are needed to activate gluthathione. Absence of these vitamins encourages the growth of cataracts.
