You have less yoruba babes marrying ibo guys because of what we have heard and seen as terrible widowhood practices among ibos, no yoruba father will open his two eyes and see his daughter go through that. My yoruba uncle died a very sad man just a few weeks to his daughters wedding to an igbo guy. He never accepted the guy but she was insistent
That is not true; The lack of marriage to Ibo boys is largely their own fault.  Ibo boys have a reputation for going back home to marry and they are more likely to listen to their parents when it comes to relationships. Your uncle died for nothing and he's the greatest fool that ever lived if he can hold on to a simple material thing so dearly and part this earth without being at peace with his daughter. I am sure he'll demand for the yoruba part of hell fire if he gets there and will rather die the second time than to share hell fire with ibo, hausa, edo, efik etc. Nonsense.

i think the yoruba culture is easier on ladies that's why you see a number of igbo ladies willing to wed yoruba guys.
Is that what ibo girls told you? Women will be women and will always look out for theirs before looking elsewhere. Truth is that  good husbands are difficult to land in Nigeria now and quite unlike me, it means a lot to these women that tribe will be the last thing they'll consider unless there are enormous options. Seeing more ibo girls willing to wed yoruba men  than the other way round may have to do with their being more open minded than yoruba women. Have you thought of that? Whatever widows story you hear is something that happened in a place in iboland and not the whole. I don't think you'll like it as a yoruba person if Ibos claim their girls don't marry yoruba men because they are scared their father in law will rape them just because of Obasanjo's saga, will you?  You people should stop your prejudiced conversation here because of your ulterior motives. Common, must tribalism take it's toll in every thread here?
