How on earth will he make the list?. When did he start the globacom biz?. For christ sake, all this guys( that made the list) have been in business for like 10-15-20 years. Not a person who hit billions through taxpayer and then set up a biz in the last five years.
N.B Mike, No offence oooooo

You should ask how they come up with the list. It is what they see. but what about what we don't see?. The corruption in nigeria is escalating and am sure someone in nigeria is hidding that amount somewhere.

Gentlemen $1 billion is not a small money. If you don't know thats how much you must worth (net) to be on the list. Thats nearly 135 billion naira folks. How many Nigerians worth (net) that?

Some Nigerians worth more than that but trust my brothers. They want to evade tax so they don't declare all.

Yes if money in the Bank is checked, some Nigerian Governors, ministers, director, police officers, local government chairmen, did i forget to mention senators and house of rep members will make the list. But the list is for investors, not those who take money to oversea banks. Well the number of billionaires is growing yearly, Am sure soon I should get my name somewhere around that list too.

they don't put people on the list who have attained their money through fraud hence our nigerian presidents don't make the cut. plus, for many on the list, it is based on the worth of their business, not the cash amount in their bank accounts. i don't think we have such successful businesses in africa. could be wrong though.
please i am tired of hearing mike adenuga's name like he is some genius. I have heard for years that he carried *cough cough* cocaine *cough *cough* to acquire his wealth and that's how he came to own his businesses.

Typop, Talk true how much do you have in Naira, let me guess N 1000, convert that to dollars, you are worth em, em less than $10, Well it is a matter of time as you said, hope time doesn't run out on you. Try being the richest man in your family before visiting the street, then town, the LGA, the state, the country, the continent, and finally the world. It is a long way boy, best of lucks.

@raldsfield ,
You see, its just a matter of time. Meanwhile, do you think naira is like the pounds that you might not have more than a thousand in a lifetime? I worth more that a thousand naire (=N= 1,000). And by the way, I get em clean.

Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim is the world's richest man, worth an estimated $67.8 billion, after overtaking Microsoft founder Bill Gates, according to a respected tracker of Mexican financial wealth on Monday.
A 27% surge in the share price of America Movil, Latin America's largest cell phone operator controlled by Slim, from March to June made him close to $8.6 billion wealthier than Gates, said Eduardo Garcia in Sentido Comun, the online financial publication he founded.
Garcia estimated that Gates was worth $59.2 billion.
